I drive mine all the time. When Karl and I picked it up, he said he shifts his at 1800 or less and tries not to exceed 2000 rpm. I was and am a newby to the multi fuel. I have about 4000 miles on mine now since February.
I read here about guys running much harder and faster than I do. I stepped...
I am sure we can flip one over for you Chris, the guys at the yard were getting a kick out of my Haspin shirt today. They have a center pivot trunion similar to a deuce, only the axles are anchored on the ends of the springs.
We might be able to make a couple, I think only two had landing gear that was not demolished. Most are folded over and will not latch in the stored position. A couple had little landing disks along side of the dollies to keep them from sinking as easy. I was like a kid in a candy store, they...
Monkey wrenches! These were some rough trailers. We should never be short of small clevises again! Since my deuce was a waste of space, I helped secure loads and messed with the trailers some. They have a metal manual box, not a manual in the bunch! Some of them have pigtails with regular...
We picked up 40 Bolster Trailers today, only had to haul them about six miles. I planned to put my deuce to work, but we only had one with no flat tires. Some of these were really rough! Three large forklifts kept three tractor trailers busy for about five hours, loading, stacking, binding...
They have some WW1 and WW2 stuff there I would like to escape with!
A slide show of my M1008 Recovery from NW Nebraska, it has a few slides from the museum in it. Glen
My first M1008 was considerably better on fuel than this current one. It also had a very pronounced diesel knock, this one could almost pass for a gasoline engine. The earlier one would get close to 20 on the road, 17-20 at 45 to 48 mph. The current one runs around 14 to 16 on the highway.
The...
They have a grill guard, they do not have a grill! They are an interesting truck. You are limited to about 45 mph and that is screaming. They have a long skinny rod. There are a lot of good 715 guys here, but the M715zone is where you really want to be. It is only fair to warn you that nothing...
Wish I could have gone! I really enjoy those missions. Karl, what is this iron butt? I thought my deuce was wonderful on my trip home. Like the others, nice write up and thanks for the photos! I am with Karl, I should sell my other vehicles as the deuce always gets the call.... I just love to...
If I was driving my deuce down, I probably would come on over and help you, I enjoy that stuff! There are some geocaches in your area I need to go find. Sure would make for a nice photo thread. It is beautiful down there. Glen
