    Troubleshooting Horn

Thanks Steel. Not trying to beat a dead horse here but I am trying to gain a understanding of each element of the horn circuitry. I did test the circuitry from the button to the wire leading to the solenoid. It is okay. I was just trying to understand two areas. First, if the solenoid...

    Troubleshooting Horn

I am still trouble shooting my horn circuit. As said before, I get 24 volts (constant) at on one of the wires connected to the solenoid. Based on the wiring diagram, that must be the one coming from the circuit breaker. Logic tells me I should also be getting the same voltage on one of the...

    Troubleshooting Horn

So, if I am reading the schematic correctly, #10 wire runs from the magnetic relay at the starter, to the horn circuit breaker and then runs to the horn relay via #25 wire.

    Troubleshooting Horn

At this point, I am not sure I know a solenoid from a circuit breaker. Anyway, continuity on the C/B is correct and there is no continuity on the solenoid so I will order one tomorrow and, hopefully, all will be good. Thanks to all for the help.

    Troubleshooting Horn

There is no continuity between terminals of the solenoid so I will order one of those but I would like to double check the C/B before I place the order. Is there a simple test?

    Troubleshooting Horn

Today I pulled the wires from the solenoid and one is indeed showing 24V. The other I am not sure about. I tried leaving the one wire with 24V connected and grounding the other terminal of the solenoid and nothing happened. Not sure how to check continuity on the second terminal when...

    Troubleshooting Horn

After installing the new button kit, I disconnected the connector at the base column, turned on the power switch and tested it with a 24V trouble light. Nothing. Then I disconnected the two wires at the horn solenoid and turned on the power. Nothing. I read in a previous thread that the horn...

    ETW1 Carb. Adjustment

I will tag on another question someone may be able to answer. On my ETW1, the fuel intake needle in made up of 3 pieces. The needle (which is hollow), a spring and a small plunger shaft which rests against the float tab. The rebuild kit I purchased has a one piece needle. Will either one work?
