Thats how my truck came when I bought it., It also had 2 portable pumps and 4 heavy duty adjustable steel bars used to stabilize the truck when she,s in operation
The M-45A2 is just the military designation for a M-35 Cab Chassis only ( delivered from the factory with no bed/body on back ) to which the Military put their own body on it.
The M-46A2 was a M-36A2 Cab Chassis only ( long wheelbase )
My first deuce was a M-45A2 and it had a purification body on it to which I later changed out to a cargo bed, the ( equipt ) purification body weighs in around 7-8000lbs
I learned a new word when I bought that vehicle "ERDlator"
I have no personal experence as my 37 was a trailer queen ;-)
But everything I've read on this in the last 12 years is that the short shaft breaks easier then the long one as the long shaft has more give ( being longer it has more of a flex) to where the short has more shear force on it being...
I bought a 120v Clarke 130E mig ( aka Toaster) last May off e-pay and just used it for the first time this past wk/end as I'm making a 40" metal brake so I can bend/fab some cab patch panels for my deuce., The Clarke ran a nice hot bead which was impossible for my last 120v toaster to do ( which...
I have the victoreen 717 and the 720 both do low range detection ( x.1 - x100 ) but its gamma only, I'll have to go check out the 700 model or find a beta only model to add to my doomsday stash
well did not the M-35 start out with douglas then get switched to packard?, As I ( and Bruce ) mentioned earlier we had this discussion on Big E qiute a few years ago it even crossed over to Joe's PW site and there were a couple of guys who insisted that their 64-5 models had packard but I'll...

There were a couple guys on the old Big E site that had packard connectors on their 37's. I know years ago there were a couple of venders that advertised both. I bought a nos harness from RAPCO that was made in 1971 for my 37, it was douglas connectors but also had the plug in's for the...
"Bill, you beat me to my next post"
Yeah my typing has inproved, I can now use two fingers when typing...as long as I don't chew gum at the same time
I thought it was weird that my 54, M-37 had the drivers side spring spacers but no ( retro'd) door mount however having the spacers came in...
B1's got packards around 1963-4, B1's also had turn signals. I've read that Detroit went to a lower nickel higher iron type sheet metal in 1957 and this also affected the B1 production, however what I've seen of rusty B1's was more of bad ( post factory) painting/maintanence. A lot of early...
Throw it out and put in a inline filter, who needs to have a clogged filter in a tank, I took the one out of my M-37 and installed a spinon filter under the truck ( along with a primer pump )
These were not specific tothe 151 my M-38 also had one of these filter and so did my buddys mule, I just...

I just bought a motorcyle from my sister who lives down the road from you and we're working on a way to get it up here with worst case being me coming down and getting it so if nothing pans out for you I might be able to take it here to Brooks,Ga ( 30205) which is a little off the beaten path
I'm wondering out loud here but won't a 10kw running at half load burn less fuel than a 5kw running at full load!?!?
Also with everything I've read on these gensets is that if you went with non mil specs these units are more like 7kw (002A) and 12kw(003A) units
The hardest one to find is the turbo to exhaust gasket ( 1st gasket coming off the turbo), its slightly smaller then the others and no one seems to have them, I did find one on e-bay but its definetly after market and not one I'd recommend being its so flimsey
