"My advise to prospective buyers is to check local laws before you plunk down hard earned cash for your dream truck."
Excellent advice
One mans treasure is anothers eye sore
As mentioned check out your local storage yard, when I moved to Georgia I sold my deuce because I knew it wouldn't be...
The WWII steel first aid kit is correct for early M-37's ( 1951-54 )
I'm told the aluminum (shouldered lid) 1st aid box that came out around 1957 is correct for the B1's, however I had both and the aluminum one would hit the door when I closed it
Here a pic of the WWII one that was on my 37
Liner pitting is a problem with any wet sleeve engine
I've used "NAPA Kool" sca for years in my diesels coolant system even if the spec's don't call for it ( I even added it to my M-37's coolant), I just recently put a quart in my deuce. SCA's also help prevent cavitation burns which I think is...
I used gillespie 24087 on my M-37 and my first deuce
The deuce sat outside inthe So.Fla sun for 6 years and as mentioned fade was quite noticeable when compared to my garage kept M-37 (Trailer queen) but there was no cracking or peeling., Gillespie is not a automotive quality paint, it's just a...
the difference is gonna be with linkage and the airhorn hook up to air filter ( flanged or conventional ) but either carb will bolt up to the intake manifolds of either 230 engine Pictured below is the m-37 carb ( flanged airhorn) and the wc-21 carb ( wc carb is similar to the one on a civie PW )
When I put zippered NOS boots on my first deuce I sealed the zippers with "3M 5200" adhesive sealent, that made them one piece being that stuff never comes off
I gave up on using neophreme gaskets on diesel tanks back inthe 90's when the oil companies started dying off road fuel red...
Theres are different formulas of silicone rubber including formulas that are oil resistent
Standard Rubber swells in a heartbeat when exposed to petroleum products then you have Neophreme rubber which is more oil resistent and the my old favorite which is Nitrile ( Buna-N). Heck most of your...
I've read that the ( useless) jump seat was installed to meet the required mil spec of the number of troops that the contract called for the m-37 to be able to transport, it was a extra cost absorbed by Dodge just so the M-37 met the contract obligations, of course this was remedied by the B1...
"Also the Ferret without a cannon? "
There was no ferret with a cannon, Ferrets had a .30cal browning/GPMG machinegun (Mk 1/2 had a .303 bren)., the Fox which was the replacement for the ferret had a cannon and a jaguar power plant.
The piston on my airshift was put in backwards but the seal still held air barely
Heres a pic for reference ( remember the pic show a backward install thicker part of piston should face out). There is a guy on e-bay selling a kit for these ( $37.50 ) if you can't find just the seal
