No. The FDC basically adjusted the fuel stop to help keep the HP rating of the engine constant regardless of the fuel being used. The multifuel capability is a function of the engine design.

I didn't have any problems getting around last February in my A2 when we had 24 ~ 28 inches of snow. Aired down the tires to 20 PSI and never had a problem. No added weight in the back either.

I just finished doing all my seals, bearings and brakes and also have the universal joints. I still packed my knuckles full of GAA including the space between the knuckle and axle housing ends. I figure GAA is cheap and if I have a undetected boot failure or manage to submerge the axle it will...

That didn't come out right. I was referring to where some of the guys had used the current new star rubber, including me, and they weren't lasting. Not the silicone.
It will be interesting to see the life of the silicone boots. I just did mine but used the rubber boots and some guys aren't having much luck with them lasting.
In my experience over the years on most large diesel engines it pretty much was rule of thumb you can run them all day long @1200 and never have a worry. You can run 1300 for short period but above that things start to go wrong. There are exceptions to this like some older engines that don't...
Very true. Not only did I explain exactly what it was I took pictures of all 4 sides and the manufacture data plate so there was no way anyone could say they didn't know what I was insuring.
