I think that's a great deal too! Last A2 I saw go out of GL in little falls near me was a wreck. It had a paper lying in on the floor saying engine blown. IIRC it went for like 4K or more, I was shocked.
Hopefully I can find one like yours for sub 3K in running shape.
I've thought about doing that too, but mines a hardtop, don't feel like going through all the trouble. I'll stick with my M1009 having the back top removed.

I've seen some complete hummers that are reasonable IMO. I consider 30K-40K for a fully restored reasonable and an eventuality for me.
I need to check all the bearings except the one side of one axle I just took care of before I stray too far but would be nice to meet everyone locally sometime this summer.
Whooa. Pucker factor would be high if that happened to me! Thanks for posting those pics BTW, I was wondering what those straps were for on the inside of the cover! Dooooh.
HOLY CRAP! Good steal. I paid $4900 for a M35A3. You two are my hero's!!!!! Congrats all around from me. ( by the way the way if that's your photo in your icon you're hot and he's **** lucky!!!! No disrespect intended married man of 24 years). Unreal to me. 6K for a wrecker!!!!!! **** **** ****!
Yeehaww. Got her back together, no more venting from the axle, but it takes a long time to inflate the tires idling. Is that normal? When it's idling and the pressure gets to minimum the CTIS honks a long drawn out honk before closing.
**** another lucky guy/gal with a wrecker! What'd you pay for it? Wrecker is next on my list, I'd like to get an A2 but a plain ol 936 would be fine too...
