Thanks. I happened to stop at Oreilly's to pick up some brass punches to drive the race back into the hub and low and behold they had it. Messy stuff! I put a bit too much on the race to put the new retainer on, spent like 20 minutes and a roll of cloth to get the extra that squirted out.....
**** you just can't stop teasing me......I'm as green with jealousy as the color of your beauty!
I may have asked this before but don't remember. Did you get that on GL and what'd you pay? I see nice 936A2's going for 12-16.....I want one so bad.
I hope you don't mind, I stole one of your...

Them out if you drive it on the outer part of the retainer. If you drive it from the inside of the retainer it gets bent up. I had a shop do mine and had to buy a new quadseal retainer.

New question GLcaines.... I had a shop drive out the outer race and of course screwed up the outer seal retainer in the process(looks like it's pretty much a given the seal retainer is going to get screwed up whenever you drive out the race).....I've got a new retainer w/quadring on the way...
Thanks for the invite, may well do that sometime. hehe yeah just great, when something doesn't need to be fixed...... :)
I really need to buy a parts truck myself. Not in the financial cards at this time though. Busy checking seals and bearings lately. I just got around to the first axle that...
Not bad. The runup in prices lately bothers me. White Bear Lake? I deliver to a store there every Sat. on my current route. Do you drive around the city with that beast? I've only had my A3 into Princeton so far(aside from the trip from Camp Ripley to home)
You need to start a thread on how to replace torque rods if you can't buy the regular ones! What are they made of and how did you make them? Pretty wild!
