I picked up 8 spare AC boxes from GL awhile back and you would be surprised the number of extra loose nuts and washers I found laying inside. Be sure to check the cores through the transformers. Easy for a nut or washer to get stuck in there with the cables and be kind of hard to see at first.

Good catch. There are lots of things in the AC box that wayward nuts and washers won't react nicely with.

Kind of sounds like a new switch is in order. Sure the lever is tight on the shaft. Just a thought.

The only way to stop a rear main seal leak is pull the transmission and replace it.

Good to hear all went well. Did you use cork wedges or RTV in the spindle key way. I have a couple items to get and then I'm pulling all the hubs for bearing repack and brake inspection.

I would consider them "fresh" ready to run. I know that gaskets will dry and shrink with time but that seems to happen most when they have been exposed to gas/oil/diesel for a while first. 2cents
