There is a diagram of the "Start Control assembly" in TM5-6115-585-24P, Page 136 Figure 43. Haven't had one open so not much help. You might check and see if some enterprising individual bypassed the assembly.

I didn't remember the recess. Been a couple months sense I replaced mine. A good place to try for odd seals / gaskets would be at Messicks John Deere over in Harrington. They work on all kind of equipment from all years.

TM9-2320-361-34 section 5-4 page 5-12 goes through the procedure for installing and timing the ip. Even has pictures. :mrgreen:

Just my 2cents but I would get the correct gasket. Sometimes "o" rings don't take kindly to being compressed tightly without being supported around their outer diameter. They can split when compressed.

Well that tells us something. Your “no output” seemed to happen when the outside temp was low. Problem is this could indicate either a bad connection or a temp sensitive component. You could try something like “freeze spray” to help isolate a problematic component...

Thanks for posting the info on the conversions. I would like to convert my 018a to run NG and gasoline so I pretty much would have fuel available no matter what.
