    Installing new winch cable

Not necessarily OD. So you are saying you would layout the cable and fasten to the winch drum and then have the driver operate the PTO in reverse to retrieve the cable while someone guides the cable onto the winch. I have the welding gloves and it is new cable so it is in good condition. Can...

    Installing new winch cable

OD While it seems cut and dry, every wise post I have read stresses caution when operating the winch. I overhauled my winch which hopefully is now in top shape and I would like to find cable installation instructions like the TM's cover for most items relative to the deuce. Specifically: - I...

    Installing new winch cable

I am trying to find information on the correct method to install a new cable on the front winch. TM's do not seem to address this for the front winch and a search has come up short as well. Any help is appreciated.

Did I miss something. Are all of your A3's exhibiting this problem. If not, why not look at the other two and see what wiring difference, if any exist.

    bobbing 1st deuce

Drilling the holes is a real challenge. I finally went with drilling a smaller pilot hole and then expand it to the size wanted using a step drill. The step drill makes short work of the frame holes. Sometimes you have to drill one side and then go to the other side because the step drill is...

I bobbed mine shortening the stock bed so my measurements would not apply. But remember, the fire wrench is your friend. Good luck.

    Transmission leaking, found out why

Mine was the same way too. I made many attempt to remove the plug but it was really in there. I ended up changing the tranny out for other reasons so when I address my bad tranny, I will get that plug out.

Been Meaning To Clean These Up!

I have bobbed my deuce so I am working on a section at a time for refurbishing. The under carriage is all done and my last major mechanical project is to flush the cooling system and change belts and hoses. Then in is on to the refurb of the interior and finally the rest of the external paint...

Been Meaning To Clean These Up!

It has been awhile since I ordered mine but this is the link I remember. The part number is 49-9418 and it is item #5 on the page. You may want to call LMC Truck to verify that is stripping is the black rubber. Mine was cut to fit. LMC Truck Parts - Page 26

It is rubber stripping that is used as padding when installing wood beds on old pickup trucks. If was just right size. Put it down with contact cement. I was going to use the web stripping but this worked so much better.

Been Meaning To Clean These Up!

During our recent "hard freeze" in South Texas I had a small leak develop in my fuel tank so I was forced to get it repaired. I had my local welding shop patch and reinforce the holes and then used a KBS Coatings coating kit. It did a great job and while I was working on this spot, I decided...
