Thank you 3dAngus for the lesson on VME dataplates. My rustproofing information is on a metallic sticker, I sure thought that was it. Good eye! It's nice to learn something on here every now and then. [thumbzup]
I just came in from getting the shot of the plate as I promised. I don't think this is the same thing, but it might tell you what your plate isn't. I also sent shots on the obvious plates. Hope this helps.
I have an article at home written by one of our Club Members, referencing the do's and dont's of registering an MV in Colorado. It is written well, and quite thorough I'll post it for you tonight.
The sticker looks like the same one as on my 105, if so, it's a rust-proofing certification as Emmado said. I'll get a shot of it tonight when I get home.
A good walk-around with a pre-trip inspection might have caught that, and then again, maybe not. For the newbs out there, always look at the insides of all the wheels, you just might see the beginnings of a problem. If you find anything, a small sample on your finger will tell you what it is...

They could just send all the trucks and trailers to the scrapper. Then where would we be? It's been said time and time again, GL is a crap shoot. Take it or leave it. I have never had a bad experience at GL, Fort Carson. Good folks there. We get in, claim our lots and get out.
I don't know, this stuff dried hard, but pliable, not rubbery at all. I didn't put it in the engine compartment though. The Military used some sort of undercoating/sound deadner on the firewall of some Deuces I've seen, what did they use?
I'm still kind of leaning toward the "rubberized coatings" that are available. I've had excellent results with 3M Rubberized Undercoating. I have used this product on Deuce battery boxes after blasting them down to bare metal. In another application, I coated the exposed sheet metal under the...
I saw this thread come back on the Forum and thought it would be a good time to update my results. I have had the cabinet for 4 years now and couldn't be happier. I have replaced tips, guns, hoses and just about everything that wears out on this cabinet. The Folks at TP Tools are always helpful...
