Started on a current model Dodge Charger model today. This time I reviewed the plans before cutting the parts. Will need modifications to look more authentic.
I am so glad you guys like the end results on the DUKW. I tried to make it as close as possible to the real deal.
Here is a graphic of what the plans designer came up with:
Last night I painted the tires and rims, headlight lenses and mirrors. Need cat-eye red tail lights and white on the stars to finish. Cell phone camera still can't get the correct tint so these pictures got adjusted too.
So I painted the DUKW Vallejo US Olive Drab. It came out gray/green in my shop lighting (LED). Pictures show it as gray for some reason! I left the model in the shop to dry better overnight. I will look at it in daylight and see what shade it ends up. Let me know what you think...
UPDATE...
Right side moldings installed. Made the shovel and ax for the truck. Also made the tubular item for the right side ( looks like bazooka but not sure).
Still need to make the curved moldings and vertical ones for front and back.
Made some progress on the body moulding. Had to use the fender flairs because the plan did not recess the wheels properly. Like I mentioned it's not a perfect design. Working with what i got.
