that is from driving to fast. really. the 2nd gear that was on there would definitely not be reusable.

many NOS parts are surplus because of defects. both gears run on shaft and spin freely.

second gear slides on the shaft, then put in 2 keys and press hub on, then snap ring, then 2/3 syncro, then 3d gear. make sure 2/3 syncro is facing correct way or it will not shift. both gears spin freely on shaft.

second gear does not press on. it is a bearing fit on that section of the shaft. sounds like your mainshaft is destroyed

Only the function knob matters, and what you want that function to do. Otherwise they are not selected so position does not matter.

That is just a waste of time. All you need to do is measure from the hub face to the face of the nut and do the math. It's in the manual and really simple.

that wire goes to the fording switch. it only has one blank spot so you cannot go wrong

There is no connection between the A/C and the engine fan. Did you connect any wires t o the fording switch?
