I don't have access to it either, so in light of that, "Get Well Soon Rusty!" The hospital is no place to visit or be interned. Been there, done that, got a nightgown, but no T-shirt.
Now James, I don't have any blue suits. I use blue because the first Deuce I bought came from Robbins AFB & they used blue silicone hose in replacements.
Both of my trucks didn't come with the slobber tubes for some reason. McMaster-Carr has blue silicon 1 1/4" tube that was added to both trucks to route the blowby to in front of the battery box & out of the way. It may not be original, but it suits me & works well.
I have one that I set up to run the house 20 years ago, that was a disaster due to the way it was connected electrically. It is still sitting where I left it all those years ago after it burned up my satellite receiver. It worked great set for 110v, but 220v was a different story.
I agree with this line of thinking & always disconnect the power & the charge leads from the batteries before starting the genset & truck for that matter. It guarantees I am not destroying the charger by putting a heavy load on it when the starter engages.
The embers & blue smoke are carbon & unburnt diesel residue burning off the combustion chamber, valves & exhaust manifold. The more you run it under load, the better the engine will run as it cleans out the wet stacking that diesel gensets get from being underloaded & run for periods of time...
I was given a bunch of 15-w40 unused diesel motor oil & I poured it straight into the tank to the rate of a 50-50 mix with diesel fuel. Thinking it would mix with no problem, caused me much grief as the engine would miss & run horribly unless you stayed under 40mph in 5th gear. Running thru the...
Stuck closed is a non runner!
Stuck open is a soon to be non runner due to a grenaded engine @ the worse.
Glad you got her running again. Sitting & not running is a bad idea for any vehicles & or engines.
The way I got my stuck delivery valve out was to remove the 12 point plug & spring carefully & spray carb cleaner in the bore & let it set a while. Then with a small set of needle nose pliers that fit up into the spring bore hole, wiggled the delivery valve until it broke loose. After removing...
If the delivery valve is stuck shut, the engine won't run for sure. Without the delivery valve in there, your engine was not running. That makes one wonder did someone just remove(or lose) the delivery valve & just reassemble the HH & keep going? Army mechanics do some strange things to...
Today was a great day to be home & work on the truck, no rain & normal summer hot weather; bug count was low too. The drivers side air bag had been removed last year, so removing it was a breeze. Replacing the bag into the assembly wasn't too bad & went well; reinstalled back into the truck &...
My air bags for the cab came in today for the M1081 from perfection equipment. It took almost seven weeks, Jeff in the parts department was a big help, but this should clear up the rest of the big leaks on the truck. Tomorrow will be installation day as the daily rainstorms are forecast to stop...
Large O-Ring: 2.484 x .139 = -230 or 230 (depending on which standard)
Small O-ring: 2.109 x .139 = -227 or 227 (depending on which standard)
Actuator O-Ring: .426 x .070 = -013 or 013 (depending on which standard)
You are welcome & you can get them from McMaster-Carr in a day or so.
You could go the route of just replacing the open area with a turrent cover, but those things are made of unobtanium for some reason. Nice job on your truck, I need to follow suite after I get the air bags in & replaced.
The hi cube units are a foot taller, so I think the the inside measurements are more like 8ft 9inches. I will go measure mine & report back when it stops raining.
There are quite a few threads lately with HH non start issues & other fuel related problems. Rather than retype all of it, do a little more searching & you should find what you are looking for. Now after letting out the magic smoke, you may have other problems that have not been discussed.
This little bugger shut me down for a while due to dried biodiesel fuel residue on the valve & bore. Once cleaned & free, off she went running. Good luck with your truck.
You got it home safely, there was no damage to anything, there were no accidents, nobody was inconviencened, you did well. Just because guys here don't approve of your recovery methods is part of life. Enjoy your new to you vehicle & post more pictures as you go thru her to get her up to your...
