Don't remind me till September, that is when Irma showed me in 2017 that I am in a 100 year flood plain & took out the only bridge on the way to work(which is still out). On the other hand, thanks for the remind to get the gensets checked out again.
If you found one fuel filter that was bad, you need to change them all before you go any further unless they are clean & functional(which I doubt). If your pump is not running & you have power; pull the pump to see if it might run on the bench due to poor connections or it is running & not...
In an off road situation, it would be easier to break off the oil plug causing you to have a catastrophic situation, than if you have the standard oil plugs.
I have been waiting from mid April for a set of airbags from the dealer & they are supposed to be here in two weeks. If they are not here by then, I will try your supplier even though it is a little bit more expensive. Thanks for the info.
Both of my Deuces have 1" red Goodyear hose connecting the air cleaner to the air compressor just for this reason. It also keeps the road dust out of my air compressor. If I add a riser to the intake, then it also increases the water level that the truck can operate in safely.
Now back to our...
Bleed your filter canisters & you will be good to go. The high pressure lines after the HH will bleed themselves. Make sure the mushroom cap is off & you have a board to kill the intake air incase she tries to run away. It's cheap insurance in case. Good luck!
I have the same wire problem & just keep pushing it back into the door for now. True, it only temporarily fixes the issues @ hand, but I have bigger fish to fry on this truck!
Here is an M-1102 I recovered from Atlanta a few years ago, one of two units in excellent shape. The other one has the bows & cover with a CD TM under the stabilizer legs, it was never used before DRMO'ed.
I recovered one that only had a 70 mile drive & did it with a Deuce easily. The trailer does have air over hydraulic brakes, so unless you have those connections, you will have no service brakes. The picture you provided doesn't look like the trailer I have, but they have a few similarities...
The mouse I found in my M-1081 was in the shape I like to find them, a pile of bones & fur between the seats. The deuce was not so lucky, passenger seat cover was chewed out & a nest made of it found later under the seat.
It is very addictive, can be expensive, but is a lot of fun & you get to meet some great people in the hobby that like to help. Just like on this forum.
Pictures, we love pictures to critique your new gal. Don't forget to post some.
Have you any history on said LMTV, maintenance records, fluid levels, battery condition, any leaks? If you drive it, can you afford the tow bill if she breaks down or has a flat or two? Shipping is a wise method as you can fix any problems from the comfort of your driveway & not the side of the...
Cat A3 is a 3116 engine with rectangular oil pan, the White Deuce LDT has a split oil pan with two drain plugs & a hump for the axel to have clearance from.
Yesterday was the first day off during the 13 hour days/6 days a week shut down we have been required to work, so I tried to complete some more PM's on both Deuces. Greased everything underneath both trucks, finding that the 85 needed much more grease than the 87 since PM's in the Air Force were...
The credit card fee showed it ugly head a few months ago & is across the board for all GP sites. Another way to get more money from us. The GP site here has quit offering anything but junque for the last few months, so I am saving a lot of cash lately.
We use Tap Magic @ work for all drilling & tapping operations, the stuff is great , but not cheap. At home in the shop, I use the same Tap Magic for drilling, tapping & machining what ever I need worked on. It works in the lathe too, but has a tendency to sling off the work & make a mess. A...
