Fuel tank selector valve - multiple tanks

Thought I would update this thread. Had custom tanks made for the bed. After talking it over with a friend, decided to connect these tanks to the outside tanks with one-way valves & pumps for filling purposes only. These tanks will ride in the bed and be completely hidden. The point being...

Tanks arrived. Not something I can just strap to the roof of my car.

    Deuce Rough Terrain Limitations

The Deuce winch has quite a bit of cable length, and there are ways to run the cable that wouldn't hurt the truck. Though I agree that the truck may not always be in a situation where running the winch cable would be easy. For instance, sitting in 5 feet of water/mud. Though, that poster did...

    Deuce Rough Terrain Limitations

There are pros that will do this sort of thing, you can find shops on the internet. And some of the people on here are certified and/or their trucks never leave their property or see pavement. However, if you're going off road, it won't matter as no insurance will attach to off road anyways...

    Deuce Rough Terrain Limitations

Well, we're still talking theoretical...you could change the hubs. Or just go with a 5 ton to begin with. I bought a Deuce for the fuel mileage because I take long trips and it made sense. If you're designing for off road, maybe you should move away from the M35?

    Deuce Rough Terrain Limitations

A web search comes up with 10x335, and looking at Oshkosh's web page, MRAP Wheel / Rim - Oshkosh Equipment , they also list it as 10x335. If beadlock is important, you might consider this: MRAP 20' ALUMINUM RIM | WESTERN CANADIAN ROCKWELL INC WCR has sold adapter plates in the past. I've...

    Deuce Rough Terrain Limitations

They look similar. Here's the brochure on the M1076.

    Deuce Rough Terrain Limitations

Got this for such occasions. Fits between the tires and rolls out almost the entire length. A luxury maybe, but I've had to crawl under in the mud before too.

    Deuce Rough Terrain Limitations

I used a 1/2" 10 to 6 adapter plate that I found on evil bay. The 10 bolt pattern was 10x335mm, the same pattern also used by MRAP's I believe.

    Deuce Rough Terrain Limitations

My wheels never came close to my exhaust. I sold my 10 wheel set about a year ago. I originally got them from Ft. Lewis. Look for govplanet military auctions. Mine came with Michelin XL's on them.

    Deuce Rough Terrain Limitations

For what it's worth, some super singles (Michelin) are designed to be used with inner tubes. Also, though I never tried it with power steering, the M1076 wheel, which I used for 395's has a 0 offset and didn't rub when turning.

Vietnam Veteran's Car Show - Bellingham, WA, Sunday, July 16th

See attached flyer. I've brought my M35A2 in the past and have encouraged other military vehicle owners to bring their vehicles, especially those from the Vietnam era.

    Driving with FLIR

I can do searches on the web, people pay me to do this. Also, any place that says "inquire within" I probably can't afford. I came here looking for real world experiences. FLIR M500 Ultra High Performance Multi-Sensor Camera System (oemcameras.com) Just under $200k.

    Driving with FLIR

My go to when searching for vehicles is what's used on boats. More tech is designed for boats than off-road, it seems. And boats experience rough conditions, as rough as any off-road with bad weather conditions and salt water thrown in for extra fun. This will be my passenger, most of the time.

    Driving with FLIR

The reason I am considering FLIR is because it, supposedly, does well in foliage, dust, fog, snow, etc. I mean, if some other type of IR tech does as well in those conditions, that could work too. Generally, if driving conditions are bad, you don't drive. However, there sometimes comes a time...

    Driving with FLIR

So, I did a search but there wasn't much there. Has anyone driven with FLIR? How fast or slow is recommended? Articles written by manufacturers are self serving. Would vehicle mounted be better than wearing a personal device? I await the first post saying I don't need this.

MT My HMMWV insurance odyssey or how I became a miner 23'er

Did it once, as a kid with my father in a mosquito plagued stream in Maryland. But, no, nothing serious. And I don't expect to do anything serious this time either.

MT My HMMWV insurance odyssey or how I became a miner 23'er

Just regular insurance. This won't be a daily driver, but I plan on taking it to pick up lumber/drywall, etc, and go offroad. I want liability and I'm also concerned about theft - someone could easily confuse it with something worth money. I will try that number on Monday (5/1). I have found...

MT My HMMWV insurance odyssey or how I became a miner 23'er

So, my state won't license a humvee for the road. Doing a little research, I found that many people register vehicles in Montana under a company they create. Most, probably 99.999% do this to avoid taxes as Montana has no vehicle tax. I bought my humvee in the state I live and already paid...

A different security thread - shutters

*blows the dust off the thread* So, my project has been slowly progressing. Earlier in this thread I brought up door locks. Had those installed a couple years ago. Of course these locks can only be opened from the outside, but they can't be closed without the key. So, no one can come...
