I took a look at the side racks today, I have a stack of them but they're all for the left side. Luckily just like on m101s and other trailers they're interchangeable if you flip the top board so I just need to find some gates.
I'm guessing the bows are identical to m105 bows so no problems...
I added a back rack to my plow truck after a little bit of cutting and welding:
Yesterday I removed all the front sheet metal on my other m1028 while it's in the process of some rocker panel work. I'm going to change out the harmonic balancer and probably look at adding the banks turbo kit I...
It's not bad at all considering the age and location. From what I could tell the box needs very little welding. I'm sure like a lot of trailers it didn't see much use in service and it has certainly faired well in civilian life seeing how the hitch and landing leg haven't been messed with.
It is a Fruehauf. I figured it would sit in the yard just as good as my m105 that I’ll never use either.
Hopefully I’ll make a deal on the wrecker set as well and that will come home with it.
Here's one you don't see too often, a 1.5 ton m104 trailer. It's in pretty good shape and has the original cargo body with front gate, landing leg, and data tag. It has m105 racks on it now but I have some of the Canadian m104 side racks to use with it, I'll just need to find the front and...
Most likely it's the one under the dash. It will be bolted to a plate that has 2 small relays attached as well . Just pull the plug out and see if that stops the cranking.
A lot of people on the site change out the stock relay for a heavier duty one as shown here...
David Doyle's book about Dodges has quite a few pics of those trucks. I'm sure some of them are of your truck, it should be easy to tell now that you have the hood numbers.
Looks like the pipeline truck was originally sold from Picatinny Arsenal in 1994. The VIN info on the truck showed it was last used in NJ so that makes sense.
That'd be a good price nowadays...
One of the reasons pipeline construction bodies were built for the m35 series was that they could be equipped with a full engine torque power take off on the transfer case, while the GMC m211 could only be equipped with a PTO that delivered 30% torque.
The bows are just regular deuce bows but the tops are narrower for the narrower bed. Some day we'll get the bed sides, side racks, and bows all done since we have it all, just need to find the time.
