Removed gunner restraint plate for corrosion control. Stripped the rust off and painted with epoxy primer. Also took the opportunity to strip and paint the cargo shell hatch armor.
(5) 3/8” recessed head bolts had to be drilled out. Shanks and spacers were easily removed after the plate...

Read the TM.
Four recessed holes to access the mounting bolts. Fan clutch may need to be released in order to align the holes to bolts. Use air pressure to do so. TM covers this.
I’ve recently replaced the pump on an 1151A1 so the procedure is top of mind [emoji106]

I had the same problem on an M998. I ended up sending the pump out for service anyway.
I figure the rebuilder had to apply heat (sans fuel)

Good news confirmed no leaks from the IP after some extended driving. Looks like I have leaks from the RT return lines which I have not yet serviced.
Additionally #3 injector appears to be leaking from the main body. I’ll validate that and rebuild or replace.

Still can’t quite get a view of the drain from the top of the engine with the turbo in place. If anyone has a good link to a picture of the valley side of the drain that would be appreciated

I was able to get a vacuum hose nozzle into the valley and clean out a few lbs of diesel laden sand. Much more cleaning is needed but it’s a start.

I need to clean up the valley to remove an accumulation of sand and clear the drain. Also need to validate the IP and feed hoses are no longer leaking (hoses and IP lines were loose).

Access is really limited even with the intake tube removed. What’s the best way to gain access...
Replaced all LH bank injector return lines. Found the first hose from the return hard line to the #1 injector was loose. Whomever installed it missed getting the retaining clip over the injector return fitting.
Of note, on the ECV with 200A alternator access is a bear [emoji199] to #1. I came...
Closing the thread.
Had to loosen differential mounts from the top and move the diff backwards to optimize clearance.

Torqued front subframe. Front rear most bracket was loose on frame. Enough deflection to show during steering and cause a noticeable click.
Latter feels resolved now and all other new / rebuilt steering components validated good & tight.
Checked torque on all control arms and shocks for good...
