You would need a LOT of capital and good government connections to get the contract. To be honest, I think they have this locked up for the foreseeable future due mainly to their extensive sales locations. All mostly built on the fortunes made from Government sales. they may be shysters' but...
Are the newer gensets even worth buying? From what I have heard they are like most modern equipment and you need proprietary computers to work on them. Even worse is that you need updates on the software for those computers if you could even get hold of one and you are not going to be able to...
I assure you that Richie Bros. is not paying the government much more than maybe 10% of the sale price to the government. Oh, I remember when you could buy a M1070 for 1,000 or less because nobody wanted them. Then Richie started selling them with minimum bids like 10,000. and they were selling...
A lot of new surplus buyers do not realize there is a substantial buyers fee. Now it is even more substantial, For every 1000.00 you spend it is another 150.00 for the fee. That can really add up on a vehicle or genset!!!!!
Just got an e-mail from Richie Bros. They are raising the bidders fee to 15% so they can squeeze even more profit from the surplus they get for free and pay the government pennies on the dollar. I will not be buying anything more from Gov Deals or Gov Planet.
Dear valued customer,

Inner tubes, conveyor belts and wire ties. How in the world did we get by without the wire ties! So much quicker and easier that baling wire. Wait, most people under the age of 70 will not know what baling wire is, so we will say Mechanics wire. LOL.
Wire ties don't last as long as baling wire...
And DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING BUT THAT SWITCH once it is running!!!!! There is a problem and you need to find it before poking around with it running, especially with open panels. The switch is plastic so no danger there. Just because the ground is good does not mean that if you touch a hot wire you...
How familiar are you with electrical systems and wiring? I am not trying to be smart here but if you are not familiar with what a dead short is then you probably are not real familiar with electrical circuits. It only takes 1/4 of an amp to kill a person, touch the wrong thing here and it is 50...
Sounds like a dead short to me, you might want to do some investigation before you let the magic smoke out! And make SURE your ground rod is planted well since it could be shooting power through the ground. If that ground is loose and there is a short to the frame YOU become the ground, it will...
And it looked milky too. Considering the dipstick is right next to the crankshaft that is probably more air from the spinning crank than blowby But the color of the oil is disturbing.
I am slowing down from the rebuilding due to age and the Zenith rebuild kit prices. I will do one if you need it but I much prefer to wait until spring since my garage is unheated. Hard to do fine work with frozen hands. I cannot contact you due to the mods removing your info. I will try to send...
Do these sets really wet stack? I would understand it happening if they were running at idle all day but running at rated 1800 rpm would in itself prevent wet stacking.
Then it must be a different outfit from the ones that got me. Whenever I suspect something nowadays I check out their business address. As you can see this one is in a strip mall with no name on the board. If you all say it is a good outfit then I will go with that, I just think these places...
