Some of my deuces, with an errant 5-Ton. Sorry mods. Love dueces, great thread. (They were all idling in the photo, what a sweet sound reverberating between those walls. 2 C Turbos, 4 D Turbos & 1 ENDT-673)
Fording Kit arrived from Boyce today. It's not for an 800 series, it's for a Multifuel 5 Ton G-744. I'ts also missing about half the parts, we'll see how it gets handled in the morning. If Boyce can round up the parts, I'll put it on my M52A2.
I'm sure Mark will make it right.
I have a C turbo in the 275 and can pull my 15,000 lb M128A2C at 55 mph, up hill in 4th gear, and no problem on the flats in 5th. I've removed the FDC, which increased throttle travel.
With my C turbo and the trailer behind I have no problem running 2350 rpm down the highway. With the trailer...
I run 11x20 NDT's on 2 of my deuces. The biggest difference is top speed with a lower rpm. I can run about 60 mph at 2350 rpm. Difference on the speedo is about 7 mph. Spacing between tires on the back is fine. They look good too.
I have a fresh set of 11x20 XL's to put on the M109A3.

You can key the on/off switch, put a switch on the positive side battery cable, weld a length of chain to the inside of the cab, loop it around the steering wheel and lock it. There are many ways to keep it from leaving. You'll probably get as many answers as there are members.
With regard to CDL, some states, like AZ, zero out the weight on the registration when using a Historic Commercial Plate, same cost to register as my VW diesel rabbit pickup (caddy). Would be the same for 2.5 Ton, 5 Ton or Larger.
I really like my Deuces, I really like my 5 Tons. After driving my XM816 2000 miles from MN to AZ 2 years ago, getting in one of my Deuces was like driving a sports car.
For pure driving satisfaction, I drive a Deuce!
That shot is cool, what is it and what year is it?
Some of these have diferent gauge arrangements, like a tach under the dash. I just think it's cool that some of these made it this far are were well cared for.
Over the years, it always seemed like the Studebakers and others that were built as gassers and converted to A2's pulled in a premium on GL. It also seems like there are more of these showing up lately as well. Are these still going for a bit more? Some of these were in the inventory for almost...
I'm looking for the landing gear foot / pad for a 1951 M345. Probably going to be a tough find. Any sugestions on a suitable or halfway correct replacement?
Thanks
No, sorry not for sale. I put it to good use with my 2 pin cable. I got it from the Master Sgt (Jim) at the Camp Pendleton Mechanized Museum. I just happened to ask him if he'd ever seen one. He went into the building and came out and said you mean one of these? The rest is classified. I feel...
Very nice M109A3. My wife has claimed ownership of our 109, it's her fav and never to be sold. I have to agree, 109's are very cool.
Seems like the 109's w/w are very rare???
Area52 is correct. Check the screw on the front of the solenoid. If that doesn't fix your issue, it's the solenoid or an electrical problem toward one of the two switches on the dash. Either switch, when turned to off should kill the CUMMINS NHC 250 that's in your truck.
