Running the number of trucks they had for the years they had them finding brake parts should not be a problem if maintenance was done as it should be . It's hard to belive that the factory brakes where disconected and a home made system added on trucks that give rides to the public .
I have used the clear silicone on oil pans that where warped . It's thinner and easy to spread a thin coat on each side of the gasket all the way a round .
Yesterday I was able to drive on the highway to heat up this engine to see if there was any problems I could not find before it had some small leaks that have been fixed .I was watching water temprature the thermostat is a few inches above the top of the radiator I need to work on fixing this...
I have had done real good dealing with scrap yards they may let you strip every thing you want for a set price ? That way he makes some cash and still has a truck for the scrap . for a first truck I would look for a good running truck .
I bought a set of left hand drill bits from Harbor Freight that has worked well for me through the years when removing broken bolts . If you have to shorten the bit to get to the bolt it's better then cutting a expensive bit .

In the 1980's I drove three trucks with DT 466 one had a automatic one had 13 speed roadranger and the last one had a 5x4 I would think it may take some searching to find what you need but it should be out there. Last year when I was looking at engines I seen a lot of DT 466 in the salvage...
With 11.00 20 tires your ring should go back on with out any force stomping or taping hitting a split ring with a hammer will take the temper out of it . I try to block the rim high enough off the ground to let the tire come close to the ground the amount of air in the tube needs to not be to...
You may have a bad diaphragm on one or more of your brake pods . air it up push the brake peddle and have some one listen to the brake pods on each wheel or even could be the quick release valve .
I use one of these winches on a M52a2 to pull vehicles on to a trailer even with soldier B it's tough to keep the cable tight enough to make lay flat on the winch when it's time to pull . The winch drum can make a real mess when backing off and you don't have enough pull on the cable . I...
