I bought a 2 inch wrench used a grinder to open it to 2 1/4 . then when I could not get it any tighter I used a punch and a hammer to snug it to the next hole for the cotter pin . it is something I watch it has not loosened up .

I started my Mack 673 E engine today for the first time. It sounded good fired up and idled smooth .I still have lot"s to do but it's nice to see your work worth while .

The older 5 tons have the transmission and engine mounted far to one side that may be a problem with a road ranger . I transmission out if any one needs any measurements ?

I would price a new one there rebuilt price may be close or more ? I just had my m52a2 radiator in to get the bottom hose connection blocked off and a new 2 1/2 connection put in on the other side and it was $200 I only have one radiator shop to use around here . you may check around ?

The radiator shop may want to pull the top tank off and solder the in side support if it has one . and while they have it apart clean it out in other words a rebuild job . get a estimate .

With welded rear ends and the owner not knowing much I would be cautious some times trucks come along that have been run through a lot of mud and water and with out the proper up keep there could be lots of unseen damage to brakes and wheel bearings .
