Just again spit balling. Know you said no fuel coming out of head but wonder if we / you should be looking at injectors. We need two hole tips and popping at least 3500psi.
Plan on going. Anyone need Med. tow bar with all the goodies. NOS springer seat top with frame work . Front windshields Deuce, 809 or M37. Might bring some Septer fuel cans with metal base and new straps.
Just wish I had a old IP to play with. Most of the head replacement I have done same thing just check fuel control unit screws for binding fuel control and loosen as needed. Now I have never checked the gap between fuel control plate and the arm that is held on by the end nut. TM 9- page 3-35...
Just a thought have you checked the air filter? In most cases we can see higher temps if the rpm are low and we can not get that hot charge out quick enough. Yea 1150 is a little hot for 2000 rpm but wondering if it would have come down if you went to 2500. If increasing rpm does not bring them...
Yep that was my fault when we removed the head I should have just taken your head with me home and pulled it completely apart and good cleaning. Since then we have become GOOD friends and I regret not taking charge of the head and it being less work for both of us but we got it running.
Yes you will get fuel out of the top center cap but delivery valve could be stuck open. You said your good there. Timing looks spot on. As for the pin / fuel control unit getting into the sleeve in most cases it is not a problem. That saying the sleeve is floating free and sitting on the bottom...
Even though we do not have to bleed the injectors on the Deuce would seem like if the Head was getting any flow of fuel you should have gotten something when you cracked the injectors. I have started and it idled without the secondary fuel filter over pressure valve in the truck. Showing we do...
Myself I would stay away from old used head for now and look into a new China replacement. Better bet in the long run to have a new one if you can not get the truck running.
I found the only problem was the new distorted nuts and something with enough power to get close to correct torque. Did mine with plenty of oil on threads and one inch air impact and big air line plus big compressor. Last ones done with Milwaukee M18 one inch drive # 4 power setting. That is...
I ordered some O rings and use the Accurite # that was stamped into my wheel. If you are having trouble getting the correct o ring to seal then something is wrong or you are doing it wrong. Bad edge on outer ring or O ring groove on wheel damage or not cleaned out right. O ring lube or tire soap...
When dealing with any other O rings I use a non-petroleum base O ring lube. As said tires, O rings and valve stem rubber Murry's tire soap in solid form not turned into a liquid. Also makes it easer when you have to change the tire in the future. Jtm Products Inc F1.0003 $28.26 8Lb Pail Murphys...
Murphy's tire soap on O ring and valve stem rubber is all I use. Never had a problem but I also use two non distorted nuts to pull the ring down even and tight. Then put on all distorted nuts tight and replace the two first nuts with distorted.
I do not know what a bread loaf is in a deuce IP and I am just passing on about the plunger and plunger guide from another members post. He some how got the plunger guide and plunger off when he assembled them. I do not have my extra head anymore or I would take it apart and see how it could be...
Yep I would never talk bad about the TM's but also reading threads the are about the truck you have even if you do not have the problem that is posted. You just might find you have the same problem later on down the road.
Garrett was using this thread to help another member. I asked Gimpy Chris something I was thinking about. With the fuel control sticking when the bridge screws are tighten down to much wonder if the fuel control unit assembly little pin on the end is jamming up on the plunger sleeve? I wish I...
Ok a couple of things that button clip bothers me and I had to read your post again. You said you removed the plunger and plunger guide. The plunger and plunger guide can be put in 180* out of time. Hate to ask are your sure you got that back just the way it came apart? The drive gear with the...
Pic #2 believe was the master vent to the brass block and the main line was for fuel tank vent. It goes to the road draft tube. Work order was to remove the master vent to draft tube / tank vent line. That way no diesel fumes / or fuel could into the master cylinder. The other pics of air pack...
