Check and see how much fuel you have returning to the tank with it not running in prime and with it running under some load. It’s ok for the return flow to drop a little but you should still get a nice stream back to the tank.
The answer isn't really standardized since how much load and how long at each load should be based on what you are trying to do. If its routine run I'll do 15min each at 25%, 50%, 100%, 50%, 0%. If I'm in a hurry, I'll warm it up a bit then 50% for 15 min and 100% for 15 min.
If I'm clearing...
How to phrase this.. You see, when a daddy generator... Nevermind.
I've long given up on the creativity of the people handling these sets before the auctions buyers get them.
You are going to want to pop all the covers off and give it a really good once over. Take it apart and post up more...
I expect you could put a strong magnet on the pan adjacent to the drain location to capture any magnetic fines in the oil.
Remove the magnet as the oil drains and the fines should flow out with the oil.
With the size and strenght of rare earth magenets available, you should have an even...
I've installed Fumoto oil drain valves on virtually everything I own. Makes changing the oil a LOT easier on the equipment with larger sumps.
I'll be changing the oil on the M1081 this summer and I plan to add one to it as well.
+1 on not worrying too much about exhaust noise.
You will get far better results from building some sound isolating walls to put up around the engine itself. I have a MEP003 with the ASK and it made a very noticeable difference to reduce the clacky higher frequency sounds that can be harsh...
The most problematic part of the generator is the speed control module. I strongly recommend having a spare on hand. You can get by if it fails by pinning the speed control to MAX with the sacrifice of fuel econ and noise. Buy the one that Kurt here on the forum builds. Also buy one of his power...
Quick question for the brain trust. I pulled parts from one of the parts units to finish up the 803. The parts machines are 90s vintage. The 803 I'm working on in this thread is early 2000's. The rocker arms are the same size with one difference. The newer vintage machine has an oil hole for the...
Well, I think I found the problem with the cold cylinder.
Bent pushrod. Looks like a snake. Inside of the engine is pristine.
Swapped in a good pushrod and waited till the lifter bleed down.
She fired up on all 4 cylinders. Running SMOOOOOTH and got heat across the exhaust manifold.
Put it...
