Tough call. Ive heard the coolant heaters are barely enough to keep the frost off and 5he fuel fired heaters are way overkill. I guess I'd be inclined toward too much heat rather than not enough, just keep in mi d not to use the defrost duct till the cab is warm cause they crack the windshields!
Its no fun either way you look at it. You could pull the hydraulic head, or pull the injection pump. I would probably just pull the gear off the IP and spin the motor over, but you might need to pull the radiator for that.
Honestly, I'd just solder those tubes shut and run it, unless your going to work her hard, then replace. The stock rad is way overkill unless your hauling max weight all day.
God, just looking at the pics makes me itch. I used to be an insulator, now I won't touch it no matter how much you'd pay me. Looks like your on the right track, keep the pics coming!
The m109 boxes are 90% basket cases. Very poor build quality imho. I was sad to see mine go, but that faded quickly when I thought about all the work it needed.
