Well....thanks guys....that looks pretty anonymous I guess....Lol
Ok, so I will try to dig up some old pics from the "Early Days" of my project and get started.....I could also use some input form you guys, as to what areas you're mostly interested in....that would give me an idea what...
Ok...so I have owned my M920A1 since 2003 and I have put over 110,000 miles on it since then. I have done lots of mods (some better then others...LOL) and had to deal with my share of problems and breakdowns.
Lately I'm getting a lot of questions from folks that benefited from the recent...
Ok, here is a quick scetch of the area on the front drums of the M916-M920 trucks, with dimmensions, that have to be addressed (ground or machined off)
in order to run the 20" HEMTT wheels on them.
Hope this helps.....

The M871 has 9 really nice 1100x20 Goodyear tires on it. It just seems like a horrible waste. The hoses look new, all the lights and reflectors are new, the brakes were good and made no noise, if I only had a M818.... LOL...
Is the M871 getting scrapped? I'm trying to find one for a project...
You are on the right path I think. It is along the same lines of what I have been working on. I started with the 5-ton idea but quickly decided to go with a M916 for the base vehicle. I want to have good off-road capabillity and choose the M916 over the M920 for it's shorter wheelbase. I have...
I think we could help you get your mods done. We do that kind of work and we like to work on MVs..... :) Give me a call if you are interested, my Shop is up in Chama NM.

I'm not sure what they are intended for but I bought several of them off of Egay over the years. They come wit the 90 degree arm and the pivot swing.
The one stud is fine in my opinion since it only holds the tire and wheel assembly on to a pilot hole plate that actually supports the weight...
I'm still rounding up parts for my HEMTT cab and need help. I need a good source for some cab related items like a complete steering setup (wheel, colum, shafts, u-joints and the two 90 degree gear boxes, one at the bottom of the colum in the cab and the other one in the tunnel)
I also need a...
Sweet truck! Can't wait to see it all fixed up.....make sure you keep us posted with lots of pics!!!
Here is it's big brother....an 1945 Oshkosh with the Sidcar blower attached. Unfortunately the cab has been changed out by the Air Force in the 1970's, during a rebuild, to a more...
Jeff,
well.....the good news is: the diaphram in question, is located on the back side of the IP. It is an easy to find triangular cover with a brass fitting on top that has the pressure line from the bottom of the aftercooler housing attached to it. It is held in place by 3 screws and you can...
Andy,
I have had to tow my M920 a couple of times when the Cat 7155 had "issues"....lol
The easiest way I found is towing it from the rear and tie up the steering wheel, just like some one suggested. You don't have to remove the front drive shaft though, if you tow it like that because the...
I think it's a new Forum....Very cool!!!....Should really say 5-ton "AND UP" Mods and Hot Rodding though.....that truck for example is hardly a "5-ton".... lol

Jeff,
No that was the one stock for the Big Cam 1 in the M920. (got the 600HP ISX in it now....so no more fuel buttons...It is all done by Laptop PC now....lol)
The M916's Big Cam 3 original IP was bad so we used a diffrent pump.
We ended up putting a #17 button and the green governor spring in...
Eldgin,
That truck turned out awesome! lookin at your truck, I realize now why my M920 has a rather large turning radius. With the pusher axle gone, I can see now how long of a wheel base the M920 really has!
So......what else are you going to do to it?
Oh and thanks for all the pictures.....I...
Man....That is really amazing to me....WTF!!!! I feel extra bad because it would appear that the person might actually own a FV 432 or similar..... aua
Now you said "top periscope"....would that be one from the turret? I know that the drivers or the commanders cupola periscopes don't have cap...
Here are a couple of pics of my M920A1. It has the "visor" over the modified windshield, a M1070 type grill design, 6'' single stack, and the full rear fenders.... I know....it's a 920 but maybe this will still help to give you an idea what those mods could or would look like on your M915...
Mike,
No reason to be sorry....LOL.... I certainly agree with you! But then....I'm a little bias of course.....
Hey....I just noticed somthing in the pic....is that really a "FLOORMAT" sticking out from behind the front tire?!?
I thought that this type of "recovery method" only...
That is sweet! No more waiting at the boat ramp on 4th of july weekend!!!
Wonder what that 903VT would do to my M123A1.....
Thanks for the great pics!!!!
