This truck is so BAD A..!!!! I'm in LOVE....

Andy, That is amazing....I hope my tranny will last that long! I noticed reading through Allison's spec sheet that they offer a "retarder" that goes on the very back of the HD4070.... Do you know if they work well? Thanks Soni

    No more "Doughnut" Spare Tire!!!!

Thanks for all the nice compliments guys! So let's see: -My "avatar truck" is an M920 but I changed it up enough that I call it a M920A1.....:-) -The sleeper box started live as an S-250 Com Shelter (it fit perfect behind the cab!) -There is a 45,000# hydraulic winch behind the...

    1978 Oshkosh 911 Tractor and 747 trailer

Yes the M747 is 10ft wide without the tires. It is a whoopin 12ft wide with the tires!!!! Thats why I run 22.5" rims with 255/70R 22.5 low profile tires on mine. The M911 is almost 10ft wide with the rear dualls installed....so you got to permit it one way or another....As i said...

    No more "Doughnut" Spare Tire!!!!

Well....it started to bend the winch braket when I got it about 1/3 of the way up.....being the "hopeless optimist" that I am, I decided to continue with the task in order to check the tire fit on the new braket. This way I would be able to locate the exact spot for the new spare tire...

    No more "Doughnut" Spare Tire!!!!

Well....got my M916 spare tire bracket modified so I can carry a full size 16.00R20 Michelin XZL spare. Due to the different backspacing of the HEMMTT wheels and the 7" of additional tire diameter, I had to move the bracket rear ward and out in order to make it all work out. I also changed out...

    Balancing the 53" XZL tires?

OK so.....if you come out in the morning and there is a GREEN puddle under your truck.....how can you tell now if your radiator is leaking or one of your tires...?!? I'm just NOT sure I like that....couldn't you use somthing different.... like JACK DANIELS for example....? It won't...

    M916 for RV Build Project

Ok....I know you said you are going to call me so I don't have to type so much....lol but here is one thing right of the bet that I would like to clearify; The M916 that I own is NOT a Freightliner. The later version called the M916A1 A2 and A3s are built by Freightliner and are based on the...

    M920 Wet kit

The 5th wheel on the M916 / m920 is made by Holland. If you like the fact that it oscillates and do not want to get a whole new 5th wheel, you can change out the top plate only. That's what I did on my M920A1, I bought a 2"kingpin top plate from Holland. You pull 2 pins and it is only about a 10...

This truck is so BAD A..!!!! I'm in LOVE....

This is considered a "military" transmission by Allison and therefore is extra pricey. So with the ECM (electronic control module), the TPS (trottle position sensor) needed for the mechanical engine, the touch pad shifter and the PTO option....it runs in the high 30s, new from Allison!....pretty...

This truck is so BAD A..!!!! I'm in LOVE....

No, it has exactly the same front axle and drums. The difference is that I have 22.5"x 13" rims on my M920A1 with 445/65R22.5 Michelin XZL WBs, versus the 20"x 10" HEMMT wheels with the 16.00R20 Michelin XZLs. The 22.5" rims have more clearance and don't need any mods....I will poste a drawing...

Well.....Maybe one of these days I will get lucky.... But for now my "Formula" is: The more MVs you own........The more wifes and girlfriends you go through.... At least the MVs can be repaired.....oh and if not....sumone will still PAY you scrap value for it $$$$$$$.... I REST MY...

This truck is so BAD A..!!!! I'm in LOVE....

Ok....I really had good luck with the Equal powder / beads. I run it in everything of mine and it performs awesome. I had tried dynamic spin-balancing on the machine and the system that does it right on the truck and it always still had sume vibration left....( mostly between 96 and 103...

    Longer Wheel Studs

Justin, I got tired of messing around with changing out the studs so I came up with a diffrent solution: I was told in the past on this board to use Budd-caps.... but I just don't like the way it does not let the wheel bottom against the hub/drum face. So I took the Budd-caps and machined...
