Interesting explanation of importance of driveshaft phasing

Looks like cool stuff but I do not need any of it. In my case my drive shaft was balanced but some moron dropped my front drive shaft on the 1088. He pulled apart the slip shaft joint and did not mark it, then put it back together three splines off. Now in my case I had a growl when I came off...

    WOOHOO got my truck plated!

Yea I am not quite that happy to post twice about going today to get my tag. I have to drive 50 miles to let the inspector look at my truck. I am happy after talking to him on the phone about what he will do. He told me he just wants to see that I have not changed the truck since it was released...

Interesting explanation of importance of driveshaft phasing

iPhone method? Not trying to be rude but have you ever taken one apart and clocked it correctly on a FMTV. With the big splines you would know it is off trust me I had to do mine while under the truck and just taking off the U joint from the axle. No problem seeing if it was off a spline. Mine...

    Coasting Noise?

On my 1088 someone left out the hub thrust washer. Lucky one of our members sent me one. Maybe you need as NDT said you need to check / set up your hubs. In this case a complete axle service I would recommend.

923A2 Brake problem with pistons on the wedges or the wedges themselves

They are easer than skinning a cat. Bet if you are care full removing the seal- adjuster plunger it could be reused. Everything else will seem simple to check, clean / lube.

    FLORIDA REGISTRATION - ANYONE?

Thanks but I do not want a regular tag as I run all my stuff with antique tags. Believe the letter says horseless carriage but from what I hear there is a former military tag too for on road. We will see today.

    FLORIDA REGISTRATION - ANYONE?

Yes Ray I went through Tallahassee with the correct forms. Yes I talked to Ray #1 and he said they had to look at his truck too. For Ray #1 they did not do a inspection like in other states where they check everything including if you have hemorrhoids just wanted to check numbers and see that it...

    FLORIDA REGISTRATION - ANYONE?

Well I had an antique tag on the 1088 before and I should have just kept it registered. Now they want me to take the truck to a regional DMV office and have a road worthiness inspection. I do not know if they just started this or what the inspection will in tail. I am going to call Monday to see...

Caterpillar part number for Engine fan?

Was this a blade problem or the retainer screws came loose. Thought there was a thread where we were told to double check fan retainers? I have checked mine but will keep a eye on the fan for being loose.

    Fuel in Oil – HELP

Do a search and you will see people have tried to move the engine over just enough to get it off. Chain falls / come along tied to a tree to pull motor over. Do not get me started. Myself I think IP removal is easer but then again I was dropped on my head as a baby.

    Hello

Welcome. Sometimes it is best to go with a little more expensive truck that has been preowned by someone that took care of the truck. That means all axles have had a complete service and air pack / master cylinder plus new rubber brake lines in good working order. Engine in good working order...

    Fuel in Oil – HELP

TM calls for removal of booster pump and 60 psi of fuel put through it. In tank pump might not be enough if the seal is not that bad. Might take all 60 psi to open up the seal. Not a fun job.

    FLORIDA REGISTRATION - ANYONE?

I will say I do not know. Most all my trucks trailers I have owned and Fl. title for years. 915 and 373 trailer have had antique tags for years. Have insurance on 1088 just waiting for antique tag from Tallahassee. Been about four months since I bought the M37 that had a previous FL. title. When...
