Dave, those beautifully taped transmission gasket kits arrived yesterday in great shape. Not even a scrape or wear spot on them. Someone took good care of them on their way south. Thank you very much for sending them to me. I was surprised to see the 1986 date on them. I had no idea Canada...

Does anyone have a NOS u-joint laying around that measurements could be taken off of to confirm if this is a replacement? If anyone already has a good part number for them, that would be great too. http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/OPJ0/330.oap?ck=Search_330_-1_751&keyword=330 I figured...

If you get one, could you post some pics of it compared to the original? Maybe we can add this to the parts list if they are right.

I really like that paint job on Gizmo. Was the check valve bad in the old airpak or was it something else?

Thank you for the offer. Since I already ordered the All Metal, I am going to experiment with it first. If it doesn't work, I'll order my own tinning tools since I will have at least one more truck that will need some work too. SturmTyger....I also found these shift knobs at McMaster Carr. They...

That is neat! How would a person keep it from running off of a side panel?

Could you move your trip down here to next weekend instead of this fall so you can show me how to do it? :-D I was out looking at what I have to fill and was using a straight edge to see how bad things are. I really don't think it will be too bad. Everything was way less than 1/4 inch deep...

I also found USC All Metal. http://uschem.com/index.cfm?page=productDetail&id=54 I have a lot of research to do so I can get this truck done.

What I have to fill is mainly some small pits from welding that could not be avoided and the heat from the weld made some of the larger patches dish inwards a bit. Nothing close to 1/4 inch deep. I did spray primer on everything for now since it is so humid here, everything rusts really quick...

I have never used Bondo either. I was wanting something that will outlast me and liked the idea of putting metal back on there. How hard are you talking about when you say Lab Metal is hard to sand? Have to use a grinder with a flapper wheel hard or use an orbital sander hard? I was thinking...

    1952 M135 W/Winch

We finally got the welding done on my truck yesterday. Rusted out spots and unnecessary holes were fixed. The antenna hole in the hardtop was patched. I am really happy about it and can start prepping to paint now. I'm ready for this ugly truck to look nice. Some of the patches look rough, but...

Are you positive there is not a check valve in the master cylinder too? I've been hearing talk that doubled up check valves can cause brakes not to release as well. Mine had them doubled up. It should be like this. Since our check valve is in the airpak. Those exhaust parts look great!

Thank you for sending those! Looks like you guys are busy. So your guys found a bunch more parts #'s ?! That is great!!!

Here is what I found, but I have not called to see if the thread size is 3/8-24. http://www.classicindustries.com/product/1950/truck/parts/cx1083.html If you order one of these and it works, will you let me know so I can add it to the parts list?

I put a shift knob on the orange M135. I've had this knob off a 50's GMC/Chevy manual transmission for a few years. Turns out it works perfect and looks exactly like the one on my other M135. Small victories make me as happy as big ones. It appears that the shift knobs on the 1950's GMC...

Tech Tips says... TECH TIP: POLARIZING GENERATOR Whenever the generator or voltage regulator is disconnected the generator must be polarized. Failure to do this will result in a NO-CHARGE condition and possible DAMAGE to the generator. Disconnect the wiring harness cable at the generator. Use a...

I put a little air into the differential where the vent line bolts in. The rear differential held the little bit of air and it came back out when I moved the air nozzle away. The middle one just leaked air out around where the drive shaft bolts on I think. I hope it is only the pinion seal that...

G749 Trucks hard to come by

Find you a G749 fuel tank and an M35A2/M211 bed and you'll be all set. I hope this works out for you to get.

Good info. My gas cap is in the non-fording position so I guess it isn't working. Looks like I need to get a new one. Unless someone knows how to repair them? Please let me know how to do so if anyone does. I also forgot to mention that while blowing air through the lines and connections to...
