    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

Well crud...I hope these cups work. I am wanting to go to the rally if I can get my truck to cooperate. Are you going?

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

I am using Napa 14451. Is that what you used? I hope to start on the wheel cylinders this weekend, but probably won't finish all of them. One wheel cylinder is already done.

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

How did the 350 install work out in your mind? I should have put the 15306 on this truck but will try to make due with what I have by changing out the pistons and seals. The Napa cups are identical to the military cups out of the original wheel cylinders. Maybe if a bunch of us went together...

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

That cup in the picture is what came off of the new wheel cylinders. I just slid it on the old piston while trying to figure out the leaks. I will have to look at the NAPA cups that I have. Before I bought new wheel cylinders, I rebuilt the original wheel cylinders on the front. They were...

    1952 M135 W/Winch

I try to whenever I can find them. These trucks are not very easy to find in my area.

I would be curious to see what the internals on your new wheel cylinders look like. I am trying to find a solution to my leaks over in the thread I started. Hopefully this can save you the problems I am dealing with. It is a lot of work to change all this out and to be honest, I did not want to...

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

Plowboy....I was at the end of a 22+ hour day when I read your post last night and missed a few things. I have not had to get on the brakes hard at all. Just normal braking from normal cruising speed. Would be nice if Wagner could be a little more reasonable on those cylinders. I think $70 is...

Check Your Bumpers! Today I was out at my parts trucks and some stampings on the top driver side of the bumper of #556 caught my eye. A closer look showed that some of the numbers are the registration number that is on the hood! (41121215) Out of curiosity, I went over to truck #3194 that has...

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

I will check the vent on the master cylinder to see if anything is clogged. These are new manufacture cylinders so I did not figure the seals would leak. Maybe I should run a hone through them and replace with NAPA seals?? Maybe reuse the pistons out of the old original wheel cylinders? The...

Before you assembly your truck, check this thread. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?143929-New-Wheel-Cylinder-Issues I am having problems with my new wheel cylinders that look just like yours. I did not get them from the same place as you so the internals may be different.

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

About 3 months ago, I purchased 12 brand new wheel cylinders for my M135 from a reputable military parts dealer online. The wheel cylinders looked great and are very close to the originals that were on the truck. All 12 wheel cylinders were installed and the truck has had less than 100 miles on...

    1952 M135 W/Winch

It was a little under $63 shipped. I hope this is the right one. I looked through my TM's and searched online for what was supposed to be used with these trucks, but found nothing.

    1952 M135 W/Winch

I searched all over for a tach/dwell meter today. No one but the older guys knew what I was talking about. There were none in stock locally and all were over $100. I ended up finding this military tach and dwell tester online and bought it. Looks like it will be next week before I adjust anything.

What tach/dwell meter do you have? I am going to try to find one when I get off work today.

    1952 M135 W/Winch

I'd be glad to talk you through the process whenever you are ready. I have some good pictures of how to do it in the carburetor TM. I'll try to get that posted up soon. I went out to tune the carburetor this evening and my Tach/dwell meter decided not to work, so now I am back in a holding...

    G749 preservation

Has your temp gauge always read low like in your first video? My gauge reads just like that if not just a little higher, but when I install a civilian gauge, I am between 190 and 205. I remember the temp gauges in the vehicles I drove in the Marines always read low unless something was burning...

    1952 M135 W/Winch

My carburetor is rebuilt. I had to improvise on a couple of seals but it turned out nicely. For the adjustment screws, I had to use rubber grommets and the seal between the bowl and base I used an o ring of similar diameter and thickness as the old brittle seal. The carburetor was mounted on...

    The unofficial g749 picture thread

This is not my truck, but a friend of mine sent me the picture of this G749 fighting fires in the western part of the country right now. Neat to see them still in use!

    1952 M135 W/Winch

I got it at Sherwin Williams after reading about the ineffective modern day carburetor cleaner and what other people are using on some hotrod forums. This was one of the most highly recommended things to use. I was using the spray cans at first. Completely worthless for anything except burning...
