De-tining up-tuning
Just a few more feet of welding to be done on a final concept for the tuned G749 muffler. Muffles the muffler man could have stopped at the first design which I was happy with but they could hear a bit of tin sound coming out of the end caps so a few tweaks were added. We'll...
PWI, Posting while Impaired
You guys are wise not posting while you're slurring your typing! Don't PWI.
I didn't want to get all cad on you boys while you're partying but I'm thinking this might help out USMC008 and our future muffler builders. Muffles the muffler man changed the original...
Steel Soldier Terrh just got back from a road trip to Jasper and sent this picture. There's enough snow in the mountains that we can grab Dogheads Zamboni, flood a spot and get a quick game going!
You're bringing a woody home! Nice work gents. She needs a name....can we call it the Termite ate er????
While you were recovering, we were testing out the latest husher and swapped out Gizmo's tube for the test. I gave the boys a muffler out of the barn for a sample and we found a wee...
Canadian Army Commander
We got to see it being re-built this winter and the owner was ripping around, displaying it's awesome abilities. Wacky history indeed.
Display 2
This is probably the most prestigious photo of the day. One of our CCDMA/ MVPA members was close to the town of Breton and...
I can't prove that this driver was distracted but if YOU'RE distracted and this tank comes sliding at you..........I'm just saying!!!!

Canada Day 150th Display 1 North Edmonton
With parties everywhere and the mood festive, respective and light, the MVPA affiliates were ACTIVE at many locations. Edmonton Garrison hosted a very fun filled, family based event which we'll call display 1. I know you boys like your ladies so these...
Welcome aboard and we can both soon say, "I have slept with an ambulance". Your ambulance is better than my ambulance by 4 years and 2 tires. My 1010 is in new hands now but we had such a great time I know you'll enjoy yours. Any idea what the minimum configuration is in Florida to register as...
G749 transmission kit
Did anyone keep their inventory list handy for the transmission kit? Trying to assemble a kit out of a few opened ones and memory says there were 3 large crush washers. Memory also says, why did I come in this room, where are my keys, did I leave my jacket at the jobsite...
Test drive before you buy. Chev is my choice of vehicles to repair with 14 older Chev fleet trucks on the road a few years ago. My new job forced me to drive new vehicles in 07' and my current 2016, 2500 Chev, 4 door extended cab shorter box drives like a noodle. Something about the new electric...
G749 Canvas
That's the first time I saw 'Gertie' across the hood. Very nice truck. Fits right in with Goat, Goose and Gizmo.
The cover looks real good, almost original. Thanks for putting up the pic and keep us posted on how it's holding up.
We need to bring that picture front and center. I missed the Papa Bear logo on the hood. Thanks for pointing it out! These rally racing warriors are as entertaining as any demolition derby out there. I can always ask if they have one more car.
I went through a bunch of suppliers and see every alligator, crocodile and armadillo clip on the planet but not that shape. There.....now that I said it, someone will find some.
Can we make them? Piece of coat-hanger or steel rod? Some neatly spaced dowels drilled into a 2x4, one piece of...
First Badge
It was another great day at the G749 farm with the Pooba himself coming out for Father's day 2017. No one will say who left the hat in his trailer but he wouldn't take it off. The Security animals are still on the job and they hired some kind of short legged dude that probably has...
Bows and Bending and Breaking
Had some success with Bow building so before we destroy these, thought I'd share the pics. M135 Bows are between 68 1/2" and 70" long. We chose 68 1/2".
I'll have enough bows for all three M135's real soon, just not sure how long they'll last.
We did a...
KW
Welcome to Steel Soldiers........... THAT, is a truck!
Any chance you have a kid around that knows how to run a video camera and can grab audio and speedo video of a 0-50 mph run....posted on you tube?
I listened to the 1693 Cat KW long ago so would like to hear that Cummins.
A neighbour...
Starter bracket
I had some better pictures......Here's one for now from this link.

Where did you find those caps? Good work! I could have brought some used ones down but real glad you found a source. Can we check for tolerances on these to see if the used ones I have are any good? Guess I need to check a manual for a spec.
Those raw videos are just awesome. Pure in the true form of fine video and you sir, are a treat to listen to. I haven't heard you swear yet!
I'm just sitting here eating popcorn hoping we get lucky enough to take it for a spin.
I miss my CUCV every time it rains....I'll bet you can send us pictures with the CUCV in the rain. Always looking for MV pictures with historical shots of the Country in the background so welcome to the forum and tell us more about the ride. Does it drive on the correct side of the road...
