My M1165 has the same hose shown in the second picture. The clamp should be holding some sort of plug or valve at the opening of the line. I guessed it might be a pressure relief/check valve arrangement for the fording system.
I'm always awed by people who can talk about doing this stuff like I would talk about mowing the lawn. Mad skillz - wish I had them (and the room to use them).
Think it's time for a rollcall as there have been many new additions to the mil-surp drivers club, plus others that have been around a while I never knew about.
Please give a general location, what you drive or are working on, and what parts or help you need.

I don't know how local you are, but there are several of us in Western WA, including Oly, Poulsbo, Bainbridge. So before you scrap, let us know please!
My opinion is there are too many uncontrolled variables. The only way you can safely overcome the variability is to plan very well. Some risks to consider:
Vehicle's actual condition. Those Ritchie brothers have a different motivation than yours; so the condition they report the vehicle to...
Yeah, that would be a real kick in the pants- going to sleep believing the truck is secure and someone drives it away, and gets the $400 anti-theft system to boot.
Question for you: Say my truck is in the driveway and the keyfob is hanging on the key-rack inside my house, about 30 feet away. Is the truck disabled or is that still too close?
So that's my biggest worry with this product; I'm not in the truck but the fob is still close enough to allow the...
ahem, Digital Guard Dawg actually. ;)
Anyway, throw the rest of us a bone. What product did you use? How did you integrate it to the HMMWV? Did you keep the pushbutton or just use proximity and the stock ignition switch?
Pulled the wheel after work, soaped the valve, the bead on both sides, and bubbles appeared in the hole there, whatever that's called. I tried to re-torque the bolts but it didn't change. I popped the small half off and the o-ring looked OK, but replaced it with my spare (ordered five just in...
I guess I'm not finished yet....
Left rear has a slow leak, lost 10 psi overnight. The valve/valve -stem appear to be OK so maybe the o-ring didn't get seated properly.
Some come with the drain plug, some do not. My M1165 did not. I have an electric vacuum pump to suck the air (out of a 1-gallon glass suction jar) that I use to pull the fluid out.
The last wheel finished. The PVC was giving me fits, not wanting to get into position, but in the end I prevailed. The centramatics did an OK at balancing, but I took it to Discount Tire. The tire guy drove it into the bay and all work stopped as the whole workforce gathered around to gawk...
The new ammo cans arrived....
OK, what's wrong with this picture? I buy a three 40mm ammo can holder and three 40mm ammo cans and it looks like maybe a 4th will fit in there? What am I missing?
Sun! Started around 10am when the sun was on the driveway - the new tires are going on today, and possibly tomorrow. Three of the tires from Yermo are 2007s and one is a 2014. The three old ones have cracks, the right front has a disturbing crack. I think these are original to the vehicle...
If you have two good batteries and don't exceed the starter duty cycle, you won't need the jump packs.
If you have two dead batteries you still don't need the jump packs because as someone mentioned above, it's not good to use them on dead batteries.
If you have dead or weak batteries you may...
