Here are a few pictures of what I did:
Duke antenna- stripped.
Modified NMO mount
No-groundplane dual band antenna.
I'll post more of the pictures when I get home.
I think I paid around $900 for the first M1101 I had back in 2012, and later sold it for $2100, so not bad but like you I thought there was an endless supply.
Then we bought the house and I needed a trailer again. I had my eye on a particular trailer with a generator with the idea to pull the...
That's the thing, they look great- or did look great. Not out of round, dented, dirty, or corroded. I'm starting to think they are not really MS-116 thru 118 at all.
I ordered two new lower sections so we'll see how it goes.
Thanks much for the assistance! I will not force the new ones...
It doesn't necessarily need to be fuel leaking out, but air leaking in.
The next time you have it running, park it nose-down overnight and see if it starts easily the next day.
IF YES: You have air leaking in somewhere. My first guess would be the filter, which I had a problem with and fixed...
Finally got all the parts together in one place and ready for install.
Bored a big hole in a cover plate I had laying around- made a lot of noise and mess but it's done.
Then disaster.
Trying to screw the three sections together I managed to destroy the center section. The threads are not...
Very cool but...
All that keeps that thing from rotating on the ring is friction and the little set-screw? I recognize that they probably know more about the engineering aspect than I do, but I wish they would address it somewhere if for nothing more than the customers' comfort.
EDIT to add...
I just finally figured out my left turn signal problem- and it was not the stick.
I had several people tell me my left brake light was out. Pull the bulb- it looks & tests good.
Then I notice the filament that's burning when the lights are on is not the right one. Pressing the brake pedal...
Put a toolbox on craigslist and some guy emails me saying he'll take it, but would I be willing to deliver? No, but I'll meet you at such-&-such place about halfway between our two locations. He agrees.
So I use the friendly floorjack to lift the box up as high as possible, then climb onto...
Here's a fair analogy of this discussion so far:
Dude1: "I just bought a classic 72 Chevy"
Dude2: "Man those suck, you screwed up big time"
Dude1: "Really? A 1972 Corvette sucks?"
Dude2: "Oh yeah, here's some videos that show how bad they suck"
Dude1: "Those videos show a Chevy Chevette, and I...
Discussing oil and filters are like discussing politics or religion.
I asked anyone to cite any authoritative source that the filters I bought were less than ideal and I see several posts talking smack, but no answer to the actual question.
Now we've devolved to veiled personal insults...
I don't use Fram oil filters (Mopar for the Jeeps and Purolator for the M1009) but for $2.60 I'll chance it. These are also the 'tough guard' filters and the can is silver, not orange.
