Thanks for all the replies.
It was working great previously, even backed 2,000# of landscape block up my driveway.
Stock worked before, I want stock to work again.
I believe it.
Now I'm wishing I had been more contentious and made notes; then I could have written a short how-to to make this thread of at least some use. ;)
Trailer has been sitting a while (with the parking brakes set) and i pulled it from its parking spot over to the driveway.
While backing it in the driveway the brakes applied so I pulled it around the block and tried again. This time it went up the driveway but I think the brakes were...
Box installed. Only going to use one so I can fab a tire carrier for the same spot on the other side to hold the spare. Just the right size for a handful of tie-down straps and bungies. The trailer is not as deep as a pickup bed, so it sits just above the rail - not sure how I feel about...
Took the ferry over to Everett this morning to pick up an auction win. A Titan Model 250000 wheel well tool box, brand new in the box. I've been looking for one for a couple years now- there's no place on the M1101 trailer to store tie-downs and other stuff. I considered making a box out of...
Picked this up on the auction last week.
The story goes there was a guy that bought millions worth or milsurp and recently died, the family is selling all the stuff. The guy at the yard told me that was one of six locations in the US, and that there was at least $3Million in that location.
So...
Won item today and want to pay so I don't get charged a late fee, but I don't understand how to check out.
Where do I put my credit card info?
Why is check-out not the simplist freaking thing I do today?
The 1984 M1009 had the antenna mounts at the rear of the vehicle, while the 1985 and 1986 models had them up front. I don't believe they ever came from Chevy with both locations having the nutserts. That was likely done at the unit or depot level.
I towed my M1101 back from the auction pick-up with my M1009 no problem. I wouldn't tow it with a load with that vehicle, but empty is fine.
I paid $750 for my second M1101 and sold the HMMWV wheels for $400.
So far it's saved me at least a couple thousand in delivery charges for gravel and...
Think sensory overload.
You can get some pain generators (very high pitched loud speakers) mounted inside along with some strobes also mounted inside. Even if the alarm is ignored by you and your neighbors, they won't be able to sit inside long.
I have most of the parts to do this in my...
I would put my bets on fuel or transmission.
Easiest first though. When you start from a stop, can you hear/feel it shift from 1st, to 2nd, and then to 3rd? Drop the shift lever all the way to 1st, then when it's rolling good bump it (carefully) into 2nd- did it shift? Then do the same to 3rd.
Some follow-up to my Duke antenna install. I picked up a pretty good SWR meter and here are the results. Much better than I was expecting, especially given it's a pre-tuned antenna and it's inside that thick tube.
