When I got my M1009 the crank was broken. I was able to reach through the hole with a screwdriver and manipulate the window up and down. Not easy or fast, but possible. It was the first thing I fixed on mine, and still going strong. I treat it gingerly, like its a conglomeration of fragile...

I found out recently that the seal between the roof and cap on our truck is residing in Oz with Dorothy and Toto.
I found out recently that the seal between the roof and cap on our truck is actually made of cheaper walrus.

As mentioned, loosen the cap to equalize the pressure. Try parking overnight with the nose of the truck downhill, IOW, lower than the back end, and see if it still does it the next morning. If it starts and runs great [parked nose-down] I would suspect the filter base has a weep.
I drive mine 35 minutes to the ferry, then 15 minutes to work, then reverse coming home, four to five days a week. Then every third weekend or so we drive it 1+25 up to the mountains for an overnighter. So averaging seven to eight hours a week every week for the last year.
EDIT to add: I've...
Mine has a sticker under the hood warning not to wash the engine with water or some such. How that's bad but submerging the entire motor is OK is beyond me. :?
I haven't changed mine yet, but I'm wondering if I should as the truck seemed to be dogging climbing a steep hill today. Loooooooong steep hill at 60MPH, about 85 degrees out, truck couldn't maintain 60 and dropped to 53 before I got to the top and started down the other side.
Might be a...
It's a CVT brand, Mt Shasta model. They have even nicer and more compact models now. They all mount to the roof rails on trucks, SUVs, and even little cars. Browse around their website, there's some cool pictures.
I added a set of roof rails to the topper and it holds it up there great.
It...
The coolant is all coolant and the oil is all oil. The oil level on the stick is constant as well. After the 20 minute drive to the ferry terminal this morning there is pressure behind the cap, not sure how much. Heater core good. Everything appears normal.... :???:
Yes, I survived my CV...
So dispite the radiator weirdness, we had a fantastic time.
The campsite is down an dead-ending abandoned logging road. 4WD and clearance is a must, as well as a healthy disregard for the condition of the paint along the sides of the vehicle. This was a first trip in this year and some...
Here's a weird one.
On the way to the campsite the low coolant light came on, so I popped the cap and the level was down maybe two inches. Wait....popped the cap? Yep, no pressure at all on the radiator cap. So I'm not sure what was going on. Maybe it vented into the overflow right before I...
90 degrees here...in Washington!?
Time to head up to the mountains. Put the tent on top today and packed the truck. I'll post some pictures of the campsite when we get back tomorrow night.
I believe it was for sampling the oil. It should have a narrow steel line that runs up to a petcock valve near the coolant overflow. There are several fitting involved in making all that happen, so a few potential failure points of which to be aware.
Pulled this out of the oil cooler line. The upstream lines look a little weepy and they serve no purpose anyway.
The guy I bought my antenna brackets from said his failed- spraying hot oil all over the engine compartment and burning the truck to the ground. He said it like it was a common...
Can the Corporate 10 bolt in the 09s handle the bigger wheels that one would put on a lifted truck? That's always been my concern and why I've left mine stock. Lift + drive shafts + steering + wheels + tires + kaboomed diffs gets expensive.
