I found some decent aluminum wheels on craigslist and painted them. They've been on eight months now and the paint is holding up great. You can also get them powder-coated if you want to spend the money. I also found some BGF AT TAs on craigslist as well, almost new.
Mine start slow and slowly speed up.
Sometimes they will stop wherever they happen to be when I turn them off, other times they'll park themselves like they're supposed to. May or may not be related.
Can someone post a picture or really good description of where the capacitors are located...
The second speaker is installed on the grill, so both 100 watt feeds are working now. I got the horn ring connected to the siren box, so the air horn blows when you mash down on it. The wires are mostly loomed up but I need to re-do some of it.
Next up is the landing lights for the grill...
I got this one from a junkyard, repainted it, and screwed it down between the seats.
I'm planning on another one soon. A shallow ammo can with a jotto or similar police console attached to the top. That way I can install the siren control box and the light control box, and eventually a 2...
Looking at page 60 of the LMC catalog, I dont see anything that looks like my tank. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/CSB/full.aspx?page=60
Mine is split beyond repair, so I'd rather just get a new one.
In other news, I got the Whelen siren connected to the horn button on the steering wheel...
I wish mine was there. It's behind the grill just inboard of the headlight. Does the grill itself come off? I really haven't looked too hard. I tried pulling the radiator overflow bottle but that doesn't get me there.
By the way, does anyone know if the overflow bottle is unique to the...
No, no problems at all. I've been driving it almost every day since I got it and it's been 100% even when it's cold here. The only negative right now is that I have to park it level or nose down if I'm not going to drive it for a day. I think the fuel filter has a very slight seep and nose-...
I found the clear lenses on ebay, in fact most of the parts that I didn't already have came from ebay.
On the back I was going to go with just black lenses and no lights. I didn't like the way it was looking so I cleaned up two of the amber lenses and was going to just use them without...
I converted a Whelen Edge police lightbar to an offroad light. I removed the strobes and flashers, modified the reflector cups, and installed HIDs. So now it has SIX 35 watt HID bulbs in the reflector cups, TWO 55 watt halogen bulbs in the corners, and I left the stock bulbs in the alley...
Mine was wasted when I got my M1009. I got all new parts from LMC and it works great without the lock cylinder installed. I have a lock but I can't figure out how to make it stay in.
Lube up all the tracks and gears inside the lift-gate. That will take some of the stress off the pot metal...
Mine came from Ft Lewis- previously a range truck. No serious rust whatsoever. Don't worry about rust here. I just changed out all my seals, there's a thread here somewhere.
