When I replaced my M1009's inner fender on the right side, I torched the bracing off of the old one, cleaned it up, and plug welded it to the new one. It worked like a charm.
I made a run to a little town West of Charlotte, NC this past weekend. I met a great guy named Richard Greene who has a 404 Rock Mog. He sold me a pair of used fenders from his 404 so I can replace the crunched one on mine and have a spare left one. He's a heckofa guy with a cool Mog...
I'll ask him to check the next time he is up that way. Were there any other pieces of the stiff legs stuck in the brackets under your bed Bjorn? We were looking at Dad's manual and it looks like there should be one other piece on each side that slips into the mount and holds the legs vertically.
Great idea. I'll do mine right now and send it to you. Maybe you could get a route map made, scan it, and I can post it here too if need be.

Hey Johnny,
I just got my first Mog 404 a few months ago and haven't had the chance to wheel it yet. I will share with you what I have found out about it. It's a tractor, literally. If you have ever driven a big 4x4 tractor down the road you will have an idea about how a 404 drives. They are...
Hey Mogger,
I have been working on my 404 every evening after work. It's the only thing that keeps me sane. I am working on the mounts that will hold my 416 pritsche bed on my 404 ex-funkwagen truck. When the bed is in final position, the only mount that lines up is the rear x-member. The...

As for your engine swap question, there are several guys on the forum that have done a swap in a 2.5-ton...
I'll definitely have a good one after the Haspin Rally. Hopefully it will be all fun and no disaster. I look forward to seeing some Aberdeen reports from all of you guys[:)]
Absolutely awesome Bruce! Thanks for posting the pics 1075. I need to get up there and see his stuff in person. As soon as the Mog is roadworthy, I feel a roadtrip coming on. Might be a lot easier in my Dodge though.
Nice looking Great Dane Sam! I have been trying to talk my wife into one, but she's afraid it will dwarf our Chocolate Lab and make give her a "little dog complex."
Thanks Mogger, brakes are top on my list. My trailer air unit is seeping some brake fluid and one of my rear lines has been crushed by someone chaining it down in the past. Other than that, they seem to be solid. I will adjust the shoes and bleed the system after I replace that bad line...
Thanks Mogger! It's great to see some new Mog folks on the site. Since I am new to these critters myself I look forward to your input in my problems as they come up. I am working on getting my bed mounted solid this week. Just got my title in the mail from GRB so hopefully I'll get it plated...
Great idea about the trail scouting Bjorn. I too thought of that while away this past week. I know there are a few SS members within an hour or so of Haspin. Can someone go check the place out and report back with photos if possible. When I talked to the owner he said there are trails of all...
Thanks for the offer! I may just take you up on it if I can get my hands on the source. I'll get with you when I get back in town on the 11th. Got to catch a 6am flight tomorrow for another biz trip.
UPDATE, we are still having issues with the AOL folks and my site host. They keep telling me it's fixed and I keep getting bounce messages from AOL to my email [:(!] For the time being, if you AOL folk can't seem to get registered, please email me at My Webmaster Address and I'll approve you...
Great, Elohim, I look forward to meeting you. I'm sure one of the guys will let you drive their deuce a little too if you haven't gotten yours by July. :deal:
Keep this thread going guys. I am trying to get an idea of how many folks we'll have on hand. If the numbers look good, I plan on...
