Mog world mourns the loss of Jack Russell

Hey guys, If any of you have ever spent any time on the Mog mailing list or surfing the web for Mog info, you are bound to have come across Jack Russell. Jack died yesterday very suddenly. He had a working knowledge of civi and military Unimogs that spanned over 40 years. He was a good friend...

    Steelsoldiers gets a Mog....

Thanks 1075! It should be a good haul coming home. There are some 7% grades coming back. That should give the ol' Cummins a workout. The Mog weighs in at about 8500 with the radio box on the back! The trailer will weigh about 3k. That's a hefty combo. I was gonna haul it home this...

Hey Guys, As most of you know I've been working on trading my deuce for something a little smaller. Thanks to Recovry4x4, I met a guy named George from East TN with a Mog who was looking to trade too. We met up this weekend and deal is sealed. I traded my M35A2 w/w and my Pioneer Tool Trailer...

    1942 Willys Pics

Holy crap Cambo! So, how did you get it home? The oil was a bit milky wasn't it? I always hate to see that when I open the diff cover. That's what the oil in my deuce tranny looked like after it sat in some guys field for a year with no top on it. I knew I had a problem when I was driving...

Batteries and starter got fried, now no power.

Yep, definitely make sure your batts are hooked (-) to chassis then (+) to (-) then (+) to truck wiring. Check your (+) wire and make sure the insulation is in good condition. It's possible the batt box has pinched the wire and it's grounding out at the frame or body. Smoke, heat, fire...

    1985 M1008 electrical question(s)(long)

I'll take a photo of my fuel filter block and wiring and post it here. That should help sort things out. If you haven't already, don't bother replacing the mechanical pump. Just by an electric frame rail pump for a later model chevy diesel and splice it in near the tank. It makes thinks so...

    M35A2 fuel mileage

<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_dito.gif" alt="Dito"> on the DD bit. I'd look at the M1009 CUCV Blazer or M1008 Truck for your son's DD. They are big and burly. Tough as nails. Most parts are same as civilian. Definite cool factor. Will be a great truck to learn how to fix things such as...

    M35A2 fuel mileage

Yep, like jt said about 10-15mpg depending on terrain and winds and such. Now the old 5-ton gassers would burn about a gallon a mile sometimes. Yikes.
