Howdy,
Inside your service panel?
It will be 4 wire connection as usual.
red + black+ and white to your neutral bar, and Green to your ground bar. Sounds funny, since your ground bar and neutral bar are connected in the service panel.
The generator neutral - ground bar is then disconnected...
Howdy,
What I am saying is;
The MEP-803A is mechanical. If your average running is around a 60% load, adjust accordingly. A nice 120/240 60Hz. So that means a unit with no load might be sitting differently on the gauges.
A no load MEP-803A for me would be hanging around 61-62Hz with no load.
I...
Howdy,
Double check where you are grounding.
You say your connected using 6/3 wire.
You will want a ground somewhere. If that is your meter, or at the service panel at the house.
Because of the 600ft distance. Use the clamp on meter, usually has a few other options, and measure your line...
Howdy,
Your MEP-803A just might be cleaning itself out still. A good fully functional MEP-803A can really power a lot of stuff. The biggest would be the well pump starting and the A/C compressor starting around the same time. With the fans running, a few lights, and refridgerator running might...
Howdy,
If it is military, then it will have a plug somewhere. That is how the shelter is powered. The plug will lead you to what you will need.
Example below. Military 3 phase power plug.
Howdy,
OK
MEP-804A with a reset tag dated? with 4 hours on the meter, all fluids drained when picked up.
MEP-806A with a reset tag dated? with how many hours?, all fluids drained here too?
Break each unit down with, have either units worked correctly? How often do you run them? What do you...
Howdy,
OK, with this added information, thats knocks the fuel issue out then.
The MEP-806 is going to be a electrical issue if the genhead will not stay excited.
Hey Guy!
Howdy,
Drain's clean?
Change it. It doesn't matter if it drains clean. It's a filter. Drain's clean means nothing to what's going on. The drain on the fuel/water separator filter is for draining water.
Howdy,
Since it was military, look at what the wire plug looks like. That should have a sticker nearby, or the type of plug, and how many wires are there.
Howdy,
fuel.
How old is the fuel?
Have all the fuel filters been changed?
Do you have algae growth in the fuel?
Is the fuel treated?
Any surplus generator which you want to depend on, needs a good 3-5 hour hard run.
Howdy,
245 volts, why are you trying to go that high?
you want 240 on the guage and a seperate multi-meter to really know where you are at.
For operating single phase 120/240 60Hz
Do not sweat the small stuff.
Get the unit up and running at a nice 120/240 60Hz
Howdy,
Check out the sticky at the top of the Generator Forum
MEP-802A MEP-803A Filters and Parts
2nd post has quick links
3rd post has the manuals you need. At least on the computer. Always nice to have the manuals still in the plastic.
Yes, I would say your unit has 14 original hours on...
Howdy,
Exactly. :)
Take a look at your canister filter. Make sure that little tiny gasket stayed in place on top of the cup when you re-installed it.
We are all saying this...and that.
I hope all filters were changed. Fuel cartridge filter and the fuel/water separator filter.
NOTE: after...
