Yes the water pump comes off and the adapter plate behind it. It faster to leave the black plastic shroud on the radiator and unbolt the water pump then lay it against the radiator until you pull the head off, then the pump can come out easily without the head in place. Just remember to slide...
Are the louvers under the exhaust pipe opening. I would say that the switch is working but the louvers are not opening since it starts and runs fine. You could open the lovers by hand and pry a small piece of wood in between the louvers to keep them open to see if it runs properly.
I would say all your problems are with the s1 switch. You should have power at terminal 2,4,6,8 they are all common. 2 goes to CB1 which is the DC circuit breaker.
Preheat you should have power to number 1
Aux/prime run should have 3&5 hot
Prime should have 3 hot
Start should have 3 and 7 hot...
They are awesome units, I have one for my personal use. Only problem is they burn a lot of diesel. Usually the igniter goes out on them but you should be able to find parts easily. If you buy them and want to part them I would be interested in the right axle and tire assemble. Mine was broke off...
I agree 016B. the original motor was onan but they stopped manufacturing the motor. Then the military outsourced the yanmar with several adapter parts if the onan failed.
Could be a number of different things. Could have been load and the shut off solenoid hit the injector pump lever and jammed it just a little. I think the only way you will be able to find out is test again, while your standing next to the unit. If it's load then you'll know and if it shuts down...
What part number did you use for the front seal and where did you get it from? I've got a unit coming in with a front leak and wanted to price some seals before it got here.
Heat, Heat and more heat. Then use a small pair of vice grips. Sometimes I let them sit for a couple of days with penetrating oil on them. Spray all around the aluminum finned adapter too because after the injector is out you'll need to get it out of the finned adapter
Which way are you going to Texas. If you haven't sold it by the time you move, I may meet you somewhere to get it off your hands. :) I've seen your post on craigslist for a while and it's to far away for me to drive.
