That's what I'm thinking, K16 (crank disconnect). Try swapping the Relay with another one and make sure all your connections are tight on K16. I've been searching the schematics and can not find L5 (fuel solenoid) or any wires going to L5. The only description is on the colored schematic that...
Probably the T2 transformer inside the static excitor / voltage regulator. I just had the same problem on my 005a. Delk's and Oshkosh want $600 + for the box plus a $200 core. I'm trying to retrofit a unit with a newer V/R to replace the entire box. I'm having a problem with the field exciter. I...
IMO your putting to much concern on the wet stacking. Run it as usual, then once every 2-3 months put a hard load on it to clear it up. I have a couple of people that run the sets at 25% or below and then they put a hard load on it to clear it up. I have one guy that has logged over 12,000 hours...
Nope the shorter one is for the 802a. I've never tried to fit it to the 803a but it may work. You can tell the difference with the neck that connects to the manifold. The 802a has more of a curve and the 803a is straighter.
I agree with every one else. You may have had something else on that you were unaware of when the compressor powered up. Usually when they are overloaded, the engine will smoke bad and slowly decrease in rpm's which causes the low oil pressure fault to kick in.
Yes, what Light in the dark said. Onan bought the rights to the Lister Pitter motor and put their markings on it. When the units go through tier 2 rebuilds, they are marked with a sticker that says rebuilt Lister Petter. The Lister Petter is model for the 803a is LPW4 and the Onan is DN4M.
Start with the starter lockout to make sure its adjusted correctly. That could be causing your starter issue. After the unit is up and running try to hold the master switch to start so it will excite the field.
Yes, if you need a VR use Light in the Dark's link or Triple Jim's website (www.lakeserv.net/mep/index.html). Take my advice, don't buy a used one or NOS because in the long run they won't last.
What I would do is build a small platform about 8-12inches tall to just give you clearance to open the doors over the rails. That would not make it top heavy enough to cause concern, then if you could find a fuel cell that would fit under it, you would be in business. I've seen flat /square fuel...
The trailer is plenty big enough because I've had several people pick up generators on a 5x8. The only thing I would do, is make a platform on the trailer to rise the generator up enough so you will be able to open the doors. Beneath the platform, could yield you enough space to put an aux. fuel...
The distribution boxes are expensive if you can find one, hopefully someone here is parting out a unit and willing to sell at a responsible price. If its just the CT, greenmountain has the CT set (Ct and Cvt1) in stock for $198 which is a good price.
The bad thing about untreated diesel is that it causes algae to grow. The algae blocks everything up. Next time make sure you treat the fuel with algae killer to make sure it doesn't happen again.
At 57 amps at 240v is 13,680 watts. I would say its working perfect but it could do a little better. I load test mine at 14kw for several hours before I sell them, anything over 14kw it will trip the overload.
Installed the ADVR-054 regulator which is self exciting. Its a 4 wire hookup F+, F-, and 2 sensing leads that I hooked up the reconnection board so it could sense voltage. Started the unit and I get no output. I can put the old (original) VR/exciter back in and hold the start up and the...
Did anyone think about the starter lock out. If its a new engine, maybe its not adjusted correctly and if the leads in the lock out are not touching, the unit will not start.
Nope it hasn't been me jacking the prices up. I usually give up after they hit $2,800 because I can't sell them to make a profit. I've got 2 low hour (395hr and 688hr) 803a's on trailers for $4200 and can't sell them. I've got $3,500 into the 2 units referenced so don't expect to make a killing...
