Are there any 30 amp single phase weather tight recepticles out there?

Howdy, The only problem is they are so dang big. I even researched the military 22992 class L shell size 32, 60 amp 125/250 volt 4 wire. But they are stupid expensive. The class L connectors are so much smaller.

Feb 2016 state of Generator sales

Howdy, For conversation sake, this thread really is for talking, moaning, and bitching about generators for Feb 2016. Prices are on the rise. I do not know the reason behind it, but the surplus units keep rising dramatically. Even then add on the GL 12.5% fee, or the GP 10% fee, with the...

    MEP802A water in crankcase

Howdy, It really depends on how much you put in, and how you put it in. You can remove the top panel, remove the muffler, place a bunch of rags and such around the exhaust manifold. Start with hand turning to see what you can get out. Connect the batteries and use the dead crank at short...

    New to me MEP-802A running

Howdy, The MEP-802A is a 2 cylinder diesel engine. Because of this the unit does have some vibration. The unit works a lot better when sitting on the ground. The vibration with the lifting rings is exacerbated with the unit running in the bed of a truck. They also rattle a lot when on a...

Howdy, My 2007 MEP-802A has the Exide 2HN batteries with a manuf date of Nov 2011. I added some water and slow charged each battery separately. Both batteries are working and staying charged without any issues. If and when I have any issues. I would be putting the Optima Yellowtop 51R...

    24v charging thru slave port

Howdy, No, I have not had any problems with my NOCO Genius G7200 24v charger. I did find that if the batteries are in great shape, and the resting voltage is way up there where it should be. I would simply put a load (run preheat, or priming) on the batteries, to take the voltage peak off. I...

Howdy, Congratulations on getting it up and running. Yes, that fuel/water filter seems to really be a bear to get off. I had the same thing happen to me. And there is a thread here with others which had the filter put on by King Kong too.

Hints or tricks for mounting solar charger on a MEP-8xx

Howdy, NO, I have not mounted it yet. I have seen others mounted on the auction units. I wanted to know if there were any oops things. Like should have mounted more to he center, or more to the side etc... I like the idea of mounting it on a little pole and having a good 20 degree lean for a...

Which NOCO Genius Charger for MEP-803A?

Howdy, I think someone did not explain what the items are... NOCO Genius G7200 is the minimum unit that does 12v and 24v stuff. It does regular and AGM batteries. The smaller units do not do 24 volts. The G26000 works for the guys with lots of batteries like the 2.5 ton and 5 ton trucks. 24v...

What coolant & for MEP-802a? Precharged nitrite type or just green heavy duty type?

Howdy, Regular car coolant is not the same as a heavy duty diesel coolant. Usually a diesel engine uses a heavy duty coolant with pre-charged SCA. There are lots of green coolant brands out there. Although with today's technology, I am sure any will probably work good enough. That's why I...
