I was thinking of installing this kit

The rostra 250-1223 on my M1009
Judging from the details on that page, it looks like I also need a:
Vehicle...
Those of you who have used POR-15 as an undercarriage coating/rust preventative on your cucv, how well has it lasted over the course of a few years?
I'm considering using POR-15 to undercoat my M1009. Primarily for rust prevention rather than noise abatement.
One thing that concerns me a bit...
I saw some pictures and a friend vouched for me that it ran within the past 2 years (they think it has fuel pump issues, no fuel to carb). I won't say what I'm paying for it, but it is cheap.
Looks like it has some hunting seats installed in the bed and basket or something installed/fabbed...
Just went to replace my rear differential cover and the holes do not line up with the replacement I got at Oreilly's.
I told the clerk it was for a diesel 4WD 85 blazer.
Did the military 1009s use a different axle housing from the civilian blazers?
The replacement is a 10 bolt cover... the...
Ok, I just got a 1009 with 91k miles on it. I plan to keep it forever and drive it semi-regularly and as cost-effectively as possible. With that in mind, here's a few things I thought I'd bounce of you guys:
1A. Fuel mixing. 50/50 waste veg oil (thoroughly cleaned first, of course!) with...
I ask that, because I just got a 92k miles on the odometer m1009. It runs and drives (now).
I had to replace the batts, starter, and starter relay to get it moving, but all told wasn't too expensive. Doghead's lawnmower relay, cheap chinese starter (Gear reduced), and used interstate batts...
Installing a new starter on the 1009 this evening.
Managed to get the large cable on (because I replaced it with a slightly longer cable), then bolted the starter up to the engine.
In the attempt of trying to put the smaller wire on by feel, I managed to lose the nut that holds the wire ring...
Some guy out of hong kong is selling 100 super bright (20,000mcd) LEDs with 100 1/4watt-rated resistors for 5.75, shipped on ebay. I couldn't resist. Resist. Get it? 8)
Anyways, I'm going to see if I can scrounge up some perfboard or something and wire up a drop in LED module for a...
So I'm trying to get this 1009 going.
I just put new batts in it and I replaced the starter relay with Oreilly part# 7018601 per the doghead mod thread.
When I turn the ignition, the relay clicks, but the starter motor doesn't activate.
With the ignition switch set to "off" and my...
I just won a 1009 out of GSA pretty cheap.
It will have some issues starting, I am certain. I see two connectors on the wiring harness disconnected along with a circuit board in a plastic housing with some capacitors and other components abandoned on the floor of the cab.
Any idea what I'm...
My 923A2 keeps losing prime to the injection pump over the course of about a day. Injectors appear to remain primed or mostly so. It seems to be prime up to the IP that is being lost.
So I replaced the spin on fuel filter the other day, hoping that would fix the problem. It didn't.
This...
So I got my system charging, finally! Had to redneck engineer a Monster Mash Alternator with a (slightly modified to fit) Prestolite voltage regulator on a Sielman (Greece) alternator.
Seems like the front battery in each series charges at a lower voltage than the rear, tho. And I've...
I won a couple of lots of pulled transmissions out of OKC. My thinking was that I'd keep one and sell the rest, on the off-chance I come across a CUCV for sale, cheap, with a bad transmission and engine. Something I can get cheap and put some time in restoring and learning the vehicle.
Here's...
I bought a NOS voltage regulator from a guy on ebay. Regulator looks new, appears to be the correct part.
At least, it did until I got inside the alternator and saw the old voltage regulator. They look VERY similar. But the new one has 4 spade pins sticking out of the potting versus the...
I picked up a truck without an alternator. That is to say, I had someone pick one up for me, and bought a pulled alternator from another truck they picked up.
It's kind of hard to tell from the TM whether I hooked it up correctly, tho. The diagram on 3-229 simply doesn't say which wires go...
Saw in the TM how to go about adjusting voltage. So I removed the plug per the TM. But with the alternator installed, I cannot see down into the well to tell what type of screw it is. And the TM does not say. It just says turn the screw CCW to increase voltage or CW to decrease voltage...
The problem item is the front axle engagement switch on the dash. I've got one that just keeps hissing air out both side holes and through the front (around the lever).
I've taken it apart and cleaned both the piston and the valve body and replaced the o-ring on the piston. Still, no joy...
Where can I find just the hose adapter that goes into the back of the front axle engagement valve?
On the -20P it's listed as:
Cage code: 08752
P/N:443977
NIPPLE,PIPE PART OF KIT P/N 5704132
Or failing that, a drawing of one with dimensions? Seems like something I could turn on a lathe...
Just got a 923a2 out of hood. Stashed at a friend's place down the road from me.
Got batteries installed, but not the three smaller wires coming up from the floor. One of the ring terminals for those wires won't stay on and needs to be replaced.
Checked all the fluids, transmission fluid is...
Going to do a pickup Thursday and need some quick info if someone has a minute or knows off-hand:
What is the size of the lower radiator hose? The short one on the bottom passenger side of the radiator. I'd like to arrive with a spare, on the off chance they cut it to drain the radiator...
