Jeffro589 recently gave a link to a dealer that has them for about $4k and the trucks look really nice. Seems they do some basic maintenance and choose rust free ones.

Some of you guys might find this video I made interesting. I just give a tour of my vehicle and take it for a drive through my neighborhood in Hays County Texas.
Do they use two smaller batteries?
The civi k5 trucks i have seen only have one battery tray and the AC system takes up the spot the second battery goes. Of course this could be because it was a gasser.
From what I recall reading they do have a VIN on the frame. It is located on the top part of the frame, either on the driver or passenger side near the doors and you may need a mirror to see it.
I am gonna go see if I can find mine....
I am not sure exactly where it is located...but I think there is a vin also on the frame some place. If you can find that it is probably the real vin and you can see when your truck was truly built.
I doubt its stolen, thats a lot of work to just get $1,500. I am betting some one fixed a CUCV by using a cab or parts from an 82.
It would be really cool though if you do indeed have a pre-production model.
I see 3 possibilities
1. Stolen CUCV and some one used a VIN & title from an 82. A VIN check on the frame vs plate may confirm this.
2. An 82 some one took the parts from a CUCV and built it onto an 82 or put two trucks into one. Most likely of the 3.
3. A pre-production CUCV (i have heard...
What do you think the mileage is if you stick around 55-60 mph on the highway?
That mileage contest gives me an idea...we should truly see what people get. Perhaps people could take a pic of there odometer and scan in fuel logs. Would really be interesting to see what the true numbers are?
I wasn't talking about the 6.2, but the CUCV platform in general.
No its not a fair test..lol. My comment was made in regards to people claiming them to be extremely noisy or super sluggish. I found that some of these claims are highly exaggerated in terms of making them sound completely...
That is the first I have heard of that. Since it is only 378 what did they change/take from the 454?
I thought the 6.2 and 6.7 were GMs first diesel engines designed from the get go, unlike the Oldsmobile designs which were converted gas engines.
So much confusing info out there...
