The batteries in my M1009 are now completely dead...
I need to replace the military ones with a civilian equivalent that works.
Using the search function it seems the Group 31s are the ones to go with. My only problem is the battery post on them are different.

I saw that same one on another forum in the for sale section about 2-4 years ago. The seller claimed he bought it at the willys factory when they were auctioning off every thing.

I was watching some documentary on the invasion of Kuwait and it looked like Kuwait and Saudi Arabia had a large number of these vehicles.

I am trying to find a bracket similar to the one Barrman used on his hand throttle mod.
I tried searching for throttle cable brackets, control cable brackets, ect but all I could find were types that were unique to a specific application.
Do these things have a specific name?
Was Ted Nugent out there this year? I heard he showed up one year but that could just have been a rumor. As a southpaw myself...I have made that mistake a few times to. The worst one was a styer aug some one didn't tell me had not been switched over.
Could it be the black out lights?
I have read several threads on here about people forgetting to turn them off or the switch has fused and they draw a current whether they are on or off. Since they are not very bright when old most people don't even realize they are on.

I am keeping a mileage log with my M1009 and at the moment I am getting the following:
16/17 MPG Mixed Driving (City and Highway)
22 MPG (Highway only) @ 55-60 mph
I have a BANKs turbo setup I have not installed yet (waiting till fall).
For those who have the 6.2 Liter Banks Sidewinder...

About 8:30 am this morning out side of San Marcos a Deuce was heeding North IH35 and the bed was full of spare rims and tires.
I was heeding south so I could not see if it had any marking.
Whoever it was had probably 10-20 rims with spare tires.
