I'm currently battling leaks and so far it's the O-Ring and or the turret valve grommet on the rim. I will also replace the little oring where the CTIS hose connects to the valve stem. Looks like someone just kept tightening it down hoping to fix a leak and shredded them.
Oh, didn't think about the socket being deep enough. I better check that. I have a 3/4 inch impact and a set of big impact sockets. I did buy a big pry bar too. On the first tire it was the valve grommet that was bad, I could actually feel the air blowing out through the valve hole in the...
So I had a tire that would not air up past 30 pounds when I recovered her. I took her to Boyce and they fixed me up with new valve grommet and rim O-ring. It's holding fine. Then I get home and the other front tire starts leaking. It's flat now. I checked and I think it's the same issue. I...
Hmmm, I do have a couple extra holes drilled in the fender right behind the lower turn signals. It might have had the extra turn signals at one point. Interesting.
Ahhhh CRAP! Now the right front tire is leaking. Exact same thing as the other front one did on recovery. Should have had Boyce do both of them. Now I have to pull the wheel and tear it down. NOT looking forward to that.
Anyone have any luck replacing the large O-Ring? I don't think it's a standard size. I'm having trouble matching it up.
I've emailed the manufacturer, Evans Tempcon, to see if I can get that seal/o-ring.
Looking at the pics from the other thread I see my valve is slightly different. My needle valve in the end cap is just plastic (the white pointy cone). In the others it is brass. I would be seriously ticked-off if I had to pay $250 for a new valve because that little $.05 piece failed.
Since...
Had a few extra minutes and decided to pull the guts out leaving the front part in the truck. I found the obvious problem.
The big O-ring was very hard and flattened on the outside surface. It wasn't broken, I did that removing it. The 2 smaller ones look fine, but I'll replace them too just to...
OK I found a good thread with the same issue I am having. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?83932-Actuator-Air-Fan-Clutch-for-M923a1/page5
So now a related question: Could I pull the end off and take the guts out without loosing any coolant? Is the sensor end sealed off from the...
So I started the truck up today to go over some things. Reset the CTIS and I'm still getting the 4 light error (leaking tire somewhere?). The truck aired up, but I noticed the secondary was having a rough time and coming up slowly. Then I noticed a strong hiss and traced it to the...
Lowest bidder! I'm thinking a worthwhile, cheap, project might be replacing all of them with good stainless ones. Scared me because I didn't know there were coolant lines on the back of the engine and thought it was something more ominous.
