I had synth line on my Jeep. It was great to work with, but you have to be very aware of sharp edges (I even replaced the winch rollers with Delrin ones). I also had to get a special snatch block that was compatible (ARB $$$). The inner most drum wrap is covered with a protective sleeve to...
I need to do the front side, front axle pinion seal. I can find the seal (#10) and the gasket (#34), but not the other round gasket (#9). Does this need replaced too, or can it be reused? Anyone find this part?
Finally got the email saying my SF-97 was Fed-Exed, overnighted. Not sure if they'll deliver it on Saturday or not. Might have to wait till Monday to see what's actually on it. 43 days from the close of the auction.
So I just ordered some 3mm x 12mm and 3mm x 13mm O-rings from Mcmaster-Carr. Of course you have to order 10 each minimum. What the heck, I'll just throw another $20 at it. By the time I figure it out (if I do) I could have just bought a new actuator for $245.
Using a micrometer on the worn one, I come up with 2.56mm thick and 12.99mm inside diameter. I found a listing for a metric one 3mm x 13mm. I'm trying to get my hands on one to test it.
The original is also not a true O-ring. It's kind of squared off. I think it's also a harder, almost...
Fail!
Arrrgh, finally got the parts from Evan's. They weren't sure what O-ring to send so they send me one of each they showed for the actuator. So I ended up with 4 different O-Rings ($5 ea) and none of them are the one I need!:x:x:x:x:x
Back to the drawing board. And I still have a...
I think you wouldn't be charging the batteries at all, just powering the truck from the alternator. Not sure what effect that would have on the alternator over time.
That makes total sense looking at the schematic. The power from the alternator (line 5) would be sending power to everything even if the C-D jumper is disconnected. The fuel solenoid is powered through the Run-Start switch, so switching it off would kill the engine regardless if the jumper is...
Bypass PCB??
Playing with the P2P wiring diagrams I see a possible bypass to the PCB that would retain using the starter switch to start the engine. I wanted to see if you folks that are a lot smarter than me agree or see a problem:
Here is the diagram with the PCB completely taken out of the...
So while working on the truck (M923A2) the other day I was running it off and on for a few hours. Shut her down then tried to restart it and it wouldn't start. Turn main power on, gauges came up. Turned start/run to run and ABS tested OK. Turn switch to start...nothing. No click or...
Lookin Good! That was a good storm this week! North of the airport up to Togwotee was a mess! Highway totally drifted over. Teton Pass was fun that night at 0300 going home!
That looks like a good idea. Mine failed and was venting all the secondary air out through it (luckily not into coolant system). I turned the secondary valve off at the tank, but that would be much better.
Well I tackled the tire today. What a chore. Got the wheel off OK. Struggled a bit with the nuts around the rim, but eventually got them off. Then fought and fought and just could not break the tire bead. I loaded tire into my pickup and took it to the local tire place. They charged me...
So, I finally heard back from Evans. They forwarded my email to a parts distributor, I CAN get the seal o-ring from them. They are $20.95 each (plus shipping), which is much better than $245 for a whole new actuator! I wasn't able to call today, but will call tomorrow and order one. I will...
