Information wanted: General Dynamics XM-966 HMMWV prototype program

Very interesting. Solid rear axle and the ground clearance in front leaves a lot to be desired. Congrats on your purchase. Keep us posted with your progress.

CVR(T) FV103 Spartan VS. Hotchkiss 22-2 Schützenpanzer help

4.0 liter is as tough as the ford. No doubt about that. I've seen the engine run for hours with no oil and they generally travel well over 200,000 miles. Ford motor may go 200,000 I don't know. They usually rust away before that. Haha I've seen a 4.6 stroker long block available from...

    Humvee Overheating

Could be a delay module. Also could be a fan cut out switch, fan temperature switch, etc. There is some great diagnostics and multimeter measurements in TM 9-2320-280-20-1 page 2-168

    Humvee Overheating

If you unplug the Cadillac valve on the left side while running you hear a difference in the fan pulling air. Also with the engine off you should not be able to spin the fan unlike a normal viscous clutch.

    Voltage issues. Still.

12 volt system is generally 13.6 to 14.2 volts. 24 volt system is supposed to be 28 volts plus or minus .5 volts.

Fluke makes a better meter, no doubt about that. Price is usually 3 times higher. My first meter was a craftsman multimeter that worked well for around 10 years. I also use a multimeter in my workplace.

    Voltage issues. Still.

A craftsman digital multimeter from Sears should be good and reasonable. You could try verifying your meter on your civilian vehicle. Should be around 14 volts. Also measuring the voltage of each battery separately then connected in series (engine not running). Let me know what you come up with.

Did you try another multimeter? Do you have a solargizer on this HMMWV?
