I like those tires on your M37! I'm a great proponent of getting rid of those NDTs if you're gonna do any slick road driving. Great restore job. I have fond memories of an M37 that always brought me home.
This was taken before New Year’s Day, 2014 because it predates the departure of my old F100 to make room for my M923.
In the picture, next to the trailer with the caved in roof is my deuce (avatar) an M105, another M105, a '60 Jeep and an M101. Next to the deuce is my MKT-85.
Hard to believe...
Your work encourages me. I have a Saganaw box off of a 1 ton Ford. Mine mounts on the inside, like the original.
Did I miss something? I didn't see where you were going to mount the pump.
Edit: Let me amend that question (after I went back through the photos) Where can I get just the pump?
I hope that you don't use the '12 Volt' connection significantly. It will deplete your batteries unevenly and cause the other batteries to overcharge, bad for the life of your batteries. If you really need a lot of 12 volt juice, get a DC to DC converter.
If you have been reading through a TM and just as you get to the part you are interested in, the TM tells you to refer the problem to “DS”, you have experienced the frustration I dealt with this weekend.
First, let me give you a bit of history on my truck, a 1984 M923A1. I did my time in...
Bad idea; that disables the ABS completely and M939 series trucks without ABS have a history stalling the engine when the driver locks up the brakes. Then … there is no power steering.
Great idea, thanks. I was assuming that all 6 wheels had ABS, but I looked when I went up to the yard today...
I am considering bobbing my M923A1, so I crawled under it to see what I was going to have to unhook, remove, etc and I spotted the ABS sensor. I am afraid that I can’t just unhook it because the ABS controller will probably think the wheel is locked up and start pulsing the brakes.
I have...
' Good that DavisM38 made it home and salvaged some of his/her vacation.
Shall we start a new thread "What did you do in a Walmart parking lot'?
My first entry, "charged up my batteries from a generator and charger combo."
I'll take a look at the TM Wheelspinner referenced to confirm it, but there has to be something somewhere because I unhooked the line going to the horn (with the engine off and the air pumped up) and expected a rush of air, but there was none. I checked the gauges and they were still showing...
My 5 ton spent 2 nights in a walmart lot in Hays, KS while we waited out a storm in a nearby hotel on our trip from Ft. Benning, GA. A Walmart lot is where it spent the last 2 nights of the same trip before it got towed the last 16 miles to the storage lot. The folks there encourage...
Before you RTFM me, I have gone through them looking for the diagram for the air system and didn't find it. After hours in a hot storage yard, I'm just hoping someone can short-cut the search.
I'm trouble shooting my non-working air horn. It seems to have everything wrong with it, I think...
The flippin' timeout!!
Other than that, you guys run a great forum, thanks. I can't use the 'Remember Me' box on my computer at work and I like to check things over my lunch hour.
If you look carefully at my Avatar, you will see how I, single handedly, got my M109 home from Ft. Riley, KS to Denver, CO in 2007. That's my '69 Bronco on a tow bar.
I won the bid one day and had planned, even arranged, to have it hauled home. The next day I got laid off; change of plans. I...
Hi, from a Western Coloradan (at heart). I grew up around Grand Junction and spent a good bit of time between Salt Lake City and G. Jct. My plans keep getting side tracked, like blown transmission and GL screwing up my SF-97, so I haven’t gotten over that way like I had planned. I should have...
I won't be able to make it; GL screwed me up. After getting the transmission in, I took it for VIN and emissions inspection. GL screwed up the VIN number on the SF-97. it's going to take another 30 days to get it titled and registered.
Blairenzo,
I haven't been paying much attention to SS lately and I missed your posts until today. I would have been glad to meet you for dinner or something when you were going through Denver.
Now, about what's still going on, where are you going next?
Military Vehicle Collectors of Colorado...
If you change from a gasoline to diesel you will probably have a top-end problem. Gasoline engines generally cruise at around 3500 RPMs (give or take a bit) and diesels top out at 2200 RPMs. That will take you from a top speed of 55 MPH to 40, if you're lucky. To get around that problem without...
