Looks like something I need to do for mine.

Had my 1009 springs re arched over a year ago and had 2 1/2 inches front and rear of lift and no problems. I am currently giving my 1028 4" inches of lift with the front being re arched and the rear will be ORD shackle flip. I will let you know how it goes. So far I will have to say with 1009...

My 1028 is missing the same part. I am going to try and find a replacement to fix this.

I just bought a 1028 out of some ones back yard for $1000 and now I will bring it back to its former glory. I was there about 20 minutes before a guy that was gonna part it out for a rock crawler.

My carrier came out with just a little prying. I am replacing the clutches today, I hope the install back into the housing goes well.

I myself would not cut anything and do the 4 inch lift with springs. I had a 1984 silverado that I did a 4 inch lift and the bushwacker cutouts and I fit 36 swamper radials, I did alot of metal prep and painting to keep the trimmed fenders from rusting.

I was lucky when mine broke I still had the original part left to epoxy together. I like your thinking.

This is what I have done with mine and it has made all the difference, My truck is a very dependable and road worth investment.

This will be on my list of things to do this summer,That way I will be prepared for winter very early.

I don't know which ones will interchange I just went to the dealer and ordered one for a 1984 diesel and it fits. Mine was a one piece shroud.
